Oh yeah, the world series...

That brought a lot of people together. There's some winners and losers, I hope the kids can understand this. I don't get into this, but congrats to the winners. Sounds like it was a first for them. That had to be exciting.

Like @Krimpette I'm in the DC Metro area (Maryland), and I'm happy for all the fans. I don't follow baseball, but it is nice to have a winning team.

It has been a long time since DC had a World Series win, so it is special for everyone that loves the game.

And it's wonderful to see how it brings people together.

I still think of the Astros as a National League team. Wish they had won but Congratulations to the Nationals.

Even though I don't watch baseball I also would like to say congrats to the winners. I can't imagine how they and their town feel right now.

Well I guess I will have to keep enjoying the 2017 World Series win my Astros won.

It is exciting when a team wins a title for the first time and I believe that is the case for the Nationals. Great job and now for a really big parade and celebration!!!!!

What a game! We’re still pinching ourselves. These World Series games have given me a few more grey hairs, but they’re worth it!

@qualitygal In my newly adopted hometown of DC in the Capitol Hill area let me tell you that even folks around here that don't follow baseball are just so happy. 15 years for the Nats to achieve this win and 95 years since DC had a team that won this championship.

When i was out doing some quick errands this morning everyone was smiling, despite the intermittent rain.

I remember when the World Series was always

the 1st week of October....and throughout the decades,

it's been getting later & later.

Wonder if it will ever spill over to November?

I grew up in suburbs of D.C. and we always had lousy baseball teams. I'm not a sports fan but really wanted them to win. I turned on game last night to check scores (5th inning) and since Nats were down 2 I thought "no way they're winning and stopped checking. What a pleasant surprise this morning when I finally checked!!

It seems that there are quite a few DC area posters here that are Nats fans, included moi.

It was such a well played, exciting World Series and both teams did an outstanding job.

The Nats struggled for many years so it is great to see them win and outstanding for the area.

I'm not native, but been here long enough to say I am (moved to Maryland in 1973).

Unlike many folks who complain about the area, I really like it. Worked in DC for many years, and, yea the traffic drove me crazy....but...

Now that I'm retired, I can enjoy it all from afar.

And I'm happy for the Nats fans...and DC. It will be fun seeing the parade...I like seeing happy people!

@sidsmom it did one year - in 2009 with the Yankees & Phillies.

My birthday is November 4 and I spent the evening waching the World Series on big screen at a local pub. Neither is my team (The Mets), but I was so excited to finally have baseball on my birthday !!

Though I've lived other places, I'm a native of the area. Unfortunately, I don't really like it, but here I am... While I haven't really bonded with any of the local sports teams, I do like the Nationals and was glad to see them win the Series. Was also glad to see the more serious fans so ecstatic.
