Hello my friends! A warm, but cooler day today - raspberries are taking a break, so hope more will come in a bit. Today Lori and I've been texting as she is not getting reception to call in Alaska now. She was to the North Pole today, and tomorrow will be taking their Ferry for 3 days with the car - seeing Alaska close up. She was so looking forward to this Ferry ride as she heard about it through her clients who've been there.

Ollie is being a good dog - he never leaves our yard, thinks we have invisible fencing in too, but we don't! This is much better than having him tied up. Phoebe the cat is excellent! She is a sweetheart.

As you draw closer and closer to God, you won't have to tell anyone because it will show

in your face. Lord, teach me Your ways as I am ready and let Your love and peace flow

through me even in my difficult moments.

Scripture for the day:

"O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me." ~Psalm
30:2

Meditation for the day:

According to our varying needs, so do we think of God. It is not
necessary that we think of God as others think of God, but it is helpful
if we think of God as supplying what we personally need. The weak need
God's strength. The strong need God's tenderness. The tempted and
fallen need God's saving grace. The righteous need God's compassion for
sinners. The lonely need God as a friend. The fighters for
righteousness need a leader in God. We may find help from God in all
these areas. When we turn to God for help, God's help is available to
us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may think of God as supplying my needs. I pray that I
will bring all my problems to God for help in meeting them.

The "Did You" of Christ

Did you give him a lift? He's a brother of man,

And bearing about all the burden he can.

Did you give him a smile? He was downcast. and blue,

And a smile would have helped him to battle it through.

Did you give him your hand? He was slipping downhill,

And the world, so I fancied, was using him ill.

Did you give him a word? He
loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and
treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but
the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her
off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she
would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always
kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a
problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get
through the difficult times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great
contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom.
However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him
deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He
thought of his luxurious life and wondered, "I now have four wives
with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed
you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now
that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!",
replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another
word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my
life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No!", replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm
going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help
and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow
me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this
time!", replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only walk
with you to your grave." Her answer struck him like a bolt of
lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no
matter where you go." The King looked up, and there was his first
wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and
neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much
better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we
lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth.
When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they
have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to
the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of
wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the
only thing that will follow us wher! ever we go.

Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part
of us that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with
us throughout Eternity.

Be Blessed Today!!!

And some Food for Thought:

POP GOES THE GOSPEL
By Dennis J. Prutow

The human mind is complex and wonderful. It appears that it can pick
up messages without our consciously knowing the content of those
messages. For example, a message can be flashed on the TV screen so
fast we don't even consciously see it. But our minds click and our
appetite for a
pizza is triggered. We don't know why. Selling products in this way is
really a little underhanded. That's why TV commercials using
subliminal advertising are not permitted.

There is even mounting evidence that hidden messages placed on
recordings can be received, stored, unscrambled and impressed on our
minds without our knowledge. But when you play the recording at a slow
speed or backwards you can hear the message. I heard about this when
friends of our family borrowed a popular record from the library for a
Sunday school demonstration. They played the record backwards to hear
the hidden message. The message was there all right, a call to worship
Satan.

Some recording stars have a message to proclaim to us. They not only
bombard our ears and eyes with the so called "good news" of
promiscuous sx and Satanism, they are playing dirty tricks. They are
trying to capture a following by manipulating our minds with hidden
messages. In
the end, the real effort is to turn you and me away from the living
God. Why? Misery loves company. Those who reject God want you to
reject Him too. Don't follow the gospel of popular culture! Follow the
real gospel, the gospel of Christ. "For the wages of sin is death
[eternal death],
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord" (Romans 6:23).

He
loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and
treated her to the finest of delicacies.
