Pre-recorded Shows

Being a poor sleeper, I usually did a lot of my shopping during the late night hours. Even if I wasn’t shopping, the hosts kept me company. Now that both QVC and HSN have converted to re-runs, I no longer watch. Tonight, HSN is airing 8 hours of Andrew Lessman and his vitamin pills, for goodness sake. I can’t tolerate that guy for 15 minutes, let alone 8 hours, lol. And QVC has Jill Martin selling the same stuff, over and over. Seriously, what can the powers that be be thinking? Are they deliberately trying to go out of business? The quality of merchandise on both channels has really declined, the new host hires are unfamiliar with their products, and now re-runs. I believe it is time to say adieu.

I SO agree! They tried this a year or so ago, and quickly brought back live shows. I hope they come to their senses ths time as well. I can only imagine we are not alone in being night shoppers, and the pre-recoreded shows are simply not the same. I have been a QVC shopper for 15 years and I am NOT HAPPY! I will just turn off the pre-recorded shows.

I don't like it one bit. If I turn on QVC and see it's previously recorded, I turn the channel.

CustomerQ-V-C you are so right. Changing the channel is the thing to do to persuade QVC to bring back live programming. The more viewers who do this the sooner they will get the message!

I do a lot of shopping at night so the good news about this change is that I’m saving money!

I agree. I am also a late night shopper and am no longer. Apparentlythe Q is no longer 24/7 live. They are boring with the same same same vendors over and over. They need to press the refresh button and give us new vendors.

It takes 3 weeks to form a new habit. QVC's overnight repeats of the same TSV show will simply allow viewers toform a new habit of watching something else during those hours...and perhaps never return to overnight QVC viewing. They wanted cost cutting..they will likely get sales cutting. The more they move away from the "convenience" part of QVC the more customers they will lose.

QVC and HSN must see a sharp decline in sales during overnight hours or they wouldn't have pulled live shows. For those who want to shop, go on line.

What is so sad to me is that you have all these new host who would work out the kinks late at night. Now I tired to watch one of the new host the other night and they don't know their products and the vendor had to correct her. How sad. I turn off it is prerecorded.

One of the side effects of this move: I used to watch QVC2 a lot but with the reduction of live shows on the main channel now QVC2 doesn't have many shows to replay so it's also now repeating constantly more than ever. There are now fewer hours of shows to play on QVC2 later...so it's hurting that channel too.

I don't know how to put it any plainer - other than pre-recorded programming all night is about the dumbest thing QVC has ever done. I don't even bother to put it on that channel now....and chances are, I'll stop putting it on in the day too and go elsewhere ! Not smart, QVC !!

I so agree. Also a poor sleeper I enjoyed the live shows over night shows. QVC bring back live shows 24 hours please. I don't watch HSN because of the repeats. QVC has to be careful. They are loosing cstomers like me.

There have to be dozens of discussions concerning this topic, change the channel, problem solved. Don't see the great desire to watch a shopping channel at any time of day.

You get the special "change the channel" award--- yep, most responders been there, already done that, know how to do that,.....you sure are encouraging Qvc sales too WTG.....All the late night shoppers are saying they want their live programming back....

Perhaps if all who want to "watch" would actually shop (psst this is a shopping channel, not an entertainment channel) it would be cost effective to keep live programming. Losing money running live programming during the night increases the prices for everyone.

@Phillygurrl I agree with you. Q is trying to save money any way they can. First by all the reruns, and then by hiring inexperienced 20-something hosts, who's major, and sometimes only, qualifications would be speaking at warp speed. They have little to no product knowledge, and there's just no connection with the audience. Q doesn't know their demographics. People in their 20s aren't watching and buying from them. It's hard to believe there aren't candidates for hosting who are in their 30's, 40's, or more. Would they be so bad?!

The old saying of you have to spend money to make money is very true, and one they should consider implementing.

It is hard to be a regular year round Q watcher anyway these days. They show the same stuff over and over again. Little if anything new or innovative. How many stand mixers, Keurig, extra phone batteries, IT Cosmetics can we use?

Same with HSN. Andrew Lessman is more boring than watching paint dry. You have to have a gigantic throat to squeeze his huge vitamins down.

Qvc is going down hill fast,the time to shop is now recordings !!! WOW !!! And prices of clothing is out of control!! Its time to shop for Christmas they better get it together!!!

I agree, the hosts certainly are not trained like they used to and have a difficult time relating to some of the products or how they may be useful to the audience. If QVC needs to record shows then maybe they need to reduce the channels and the staff how can't relate to the audience. My example is Shawn, I swear she sits more than she stands and she is so condescending. I have tried to watch her programs, but find it difficult when she sits and talks about "herself" or when she stands she tries to "walk" and "pose" like a model. She interrupts the guests as well. QVC know your audience and listen to us. We do not like pre-recorded shows.
