Very good points! IMO, it's because that's what we're used to. I suppose if, over the course of history, women didn't have multiple children, requiring them to wean the last child in order to feed the new one and were able to nourish a child for years on breast milk alone, that's what would have happened. Somewhere along the line, someone couldn't produce milk for their baby and discovered animal milk would keep the child alive. And we take it from there.

i could not produce enough milk for my first child.

i quickly switched her to formula.

with my other children i did not even try......they went directly to formula.

@Mz iMac I once had a post deleted by a Mod because I had the initials you have in your title. When I questioned why, the mod informed me via email that someone had complained about what the "a" stood for as violating TOU about language allowed. I had a good idea of who it was who had complained too.

I agree she does that but she is fully committed and never wavers so I have to give her credit.She stands strong for her beliefs no matter who or how many don’t agree.I have accepted that and enjoy many of her posts .

Someone on my soap opera thread used those initials and it got poofed for being crude. Maybe Moderator can explain why it's okay now. It took me awhile to figure out the meaning when I first saw it.

@AuntG I'd like to know that too. Maybe it depends upon whether someone complains or not, but surely a mod at some point will notice this thread title. Sorry @Mz iMac it's OK with me, but at least the rules should be applied uniformly! The mod told me ROTFL was OK.
