What is going on with gas prices!!!??? Last couple of weeks it was around 3.24 today 3.99. What is going on?

Gas is down to $2.65 in my area..it was $2.89 last week.

I'm in western NC and was surprised yesterday when I passed my neighborhood station and gas was down about 8 cents from last week. $2.479 for regular.

I heard that gas is up in CA, in some cases as much as $5. Poor Northern CA!

I haven't really paid attention to gas prices lately, but yesterday I noticed the sign and thought what is going on. It was $2.29 a gallon. It hasn't been that low in ages.

We're feeling the effects of that huge Saudi refinery fire. It was bombed. That mega refinery complex supposedly supplies 5% of the oil and gas worldwide.

Here in Los Angeles, I was paying $3.45 six weeks ago .... and last week I paid $4.19.

I always get my gas at Costco. Several weeks ago the prices were down to $3.23, about two weeks after that attack on the Saudi Oil Facility it started creeping up, I stopped for gas this morning and it was $3.89 for 87 Octane.

I am in Southern California.

Gas last week was $2.50 and yesterday it was #2.54. If I went off Cape it would be cheaper, not bad.

California's gas prices are the most expensive in the US. The national average is currently $2.65 a gallon.

Most motorists around the country are noticing gas prices declining or stabilizing, which is normal for autumn. Gas prices typically drop after the busy summer driving season, AAA said. But that trend hasn't taken hold on the West Coast this fall.

Over the past two weeks, several refineries that supply the West Coast with gasoline had unexpected outages at the same time.

More than other states, California gas prices can sometimes skyrocket, because the state mandates cleaner gas with fewer emissions. That makes California gas cost more to refine, because it's a special oxygenated blend that meets the state's strict air-quality rules. Refineries have to use a specialized process, and only a few refineries are able to make California-approved gas, which makes it harder for the state to import oil.
