Voice Fading Driving Me Crazy!

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I just heard a commentator on a news show with some of the worst voice fading I've heard in quite a while. I thought by this time people would be guarding against this, but I guess not. Is anyone else bothered by this?

EDITED! OK. I think this is actually now called vocal fry. Sorry for the confusion.

I guess not since I don't know what "voice fading" is. Is it when a person is hoarse and loses their voice?

PA Mom-Mom - Do you happen to have NBC/Comcast?

My girlfriend has been upset with the audio when she watched the Phillies games. She said she kept complaining, calling and even wrote a letter and still the audio is messed up.
