HI everyone, hope you are having a good week. I'm a big-time beauty junkie and have been getting regular facials for the last few months. Every so often also get a massage and am always curious about new treatments like Hydrafacials or Cryotherapy. These treatments can get expensive so if I can save money and perform them at home on myself, I certainly try to. I cut my own hair, I have a microdermabrasion tool that works just as well (if not better) than the machine used at my spa, and I have even performed my own Jessner's Peels.

That being said, there are some treatments that I do not think you should be doing at home. These include anything invasive like Botox and injectables. Good thing I have never had interest in these particular treatments ( I feel they can alter your appearance more than I'd like). I've come across videos on Youtube where women are injecting their lips. I find it to be dangerous and too much of a risk, but maybe I'm wrong and that's where we're heading. Would you take the risk?

Never! Gotta get those types of things done by the pro. And I am also a major DIY person but I would not do injections myself. You would not have the expertise to do it properly to begin with. Unless you're a doctor/nurse who does it all the time in which case maybe you can do it yourself.

Botox, even done correctly, could kill you. I certainly wouldn't consider it a DIY project. And I have seen some poorly done injection jobs done by the pros, so why would someone think they could do better on themselves? I do my own haircolor, but that's where it stops. I know better than to even cut my own hair or give myself a perm.

No way. Look at the numbers of people who have been injected with all kinds of things because they wanted a quick or cheap fix and did not find a board-certified cosmetic surgeon.

Botox needs to be regulated. I would never do it at a party with a so-called "professional", much less my own home.

That's the kind of thing I would only do in a legit doctor's office.

Cosmetic surgery is the wild wild west in some states. Technically, my allergist can give me Botox shots and a dentist can give me a nose job. No thanks. They're not qualified to do that and I am definitely not qualified.

It's a no brainer that no one should try to do those things to themselves. I don't really believe that anyone gives themselves injections anway. There's a lot of fake stuff on Youtube. Injections like botox might look easy to us but there's more to where and how much to inject and where the nerves....which you want to avoid...are. It takes a professional. There are things I can do myself facials and there are things like haircuts that I would never try.

Botox is a neuro-toxin. Its purpose is to paralyze nerves temporarily (that's why it's also prescribed for severe migraines). As injected by a competent doctor, it can work wonders, both medicinally and cosmetically. But you'd have to be NUTS to inject yourself.
