Imagine kids would love to pass by this elephant daily. Beats having the tires in a landfill (for a while anyway).

Would rather see them recycled into door mat or something elde.

A friend used old tires stacked up to grow potatoes in. It was unsightly and the mice took over and made a home out of it.

I think old tires, no matter how cleverly arranged, are just ugly and unsightly.

They are doing a lot of things to reclaim old tires. They grind them up into pellets and make roofing shingles from them

Our new roof is made of rubber instead of asphalt. It is at least good for 50 years and is heaps stronger than conventional roofing. Hail can't damage it. The hailstones just bounce off. It is fire resistant and able to withstand very strong winds

I think the elephant is really clever. Someone has used a lot of ingenuity to make it

I suppose it's clever, but I'm not a fan of this type of "art". I'd hate to look out my window and see this.

@Citrine1 Well, at the rate rubber degrades...50 to 80 years, the elephant will be around quite awhile.

Very cool, lots of work went into that. I'd sure rather look at this than discarded tires on the sides of roads and highways. Maybe it might remind people how endangered elephants are too.

On the other hand, stacked tires with planting layers if great for growing potatoes. You harvest the top layer, remove the tire and wait for the next layer to sprout.

That is clever, but not a good thing if placed outdoors. Tires collect rain water and mosquitoes lay their eggs in that water. That is a nursery for them.
