The only reason we buy it is "just in case" of an emergency. We don't take water with us where ever we go.

I am always surprised how much bottled water people buy....at Costco etc. cases upon case...all that plastic. Why not just invest in a good water filter and refill your container?

I have not bought a plastic bottle of water Ever. Seems so wasteful and expensive.

I buy a case a year for use in the car or for guests who may not care for my Brita or PUR on the faucet. All the plastic in our garbage is so wasteful.I have to have a few empty bottles for replacing the ones in my dog's toys that she destroys. Lol. I see more people at airports filling up their own bottles. I have one that folds down to pack. Use mine often.

We buy a lot for the convenience. We. buy mostly the little 8 oz. bottles and grab one when we head out the door. At night, I have a Zojirushi stainless small bottle by my bed with iced filtered water in it.

It's the convenience for us why we buy bottled water. We also keep it stocked in our storm cellar if we have to wait for people to dig us out some time.

Bottled water is not that expensive and it is a huge convenience.

I buy three cases of water a week with more in the pantry. The gov says to have at least a few days per person in bottled water in case of an emergency, and when there as a water main break, it came in very handy. Every bottle is recycled, but as all of the worldwide studies are showing, that's rather meaningless.

A major-league filter is in our future, but I'll still have a stash to cover 1-2 weeks.

Since I'm not at war with plastic, and we have no shortage of landfill space (again, see the worldwide studies), this isn't in my top 1,000 of worries.

Here in the Mojave, our water is so hard you could use it as a weapon! The fridge has cold, filtered water at the ready, and a filter under the sink works for a couple of years to make tap water more palatable. I take a reusable sport bottle with me when out and about. Agree with the posters who believe humans use too much plastic to the detriment of the environment.
