I Won!!!

After work today, I swung by a local casino, because I had received in the mail, a card that had a scratch off spot, where you could win either a new Tesla S car, or $77k.

The spot could only be scratched off at the players club window, and it could only be redeemed today, and today only.

As expected, I didn't win the car, or the cash, but did win $5.

I took $60 out of the ATM, and found a slot machine.

Neither that machine, nor the next one paid out, so I left.

I sat down at another slot machine, where the player could choose to play penny, $0.02, $0.05, or $0.10. I decided to play nickles.

A few games in, I won some free spins, 12 in total.

I ended up winning over $70, and yes, I cashed out.

I went to a different slot machine, and put in my last $20.00, and a few games in, I had won over $40! And yes, again I cashed out.

So, in less than one hour, I had started with $60, and I walked away with $127 and change!

Not too shabby!

Congrats ! I've never won more than 5.00 at the casino, but its easy for me to quit at 10.00 down, then take the rest of my money and go have a nice dinner. DH feels the same.

Congratulations. That sounds like fun.

I like to play the Nickel slots when I can find them. One time in Vegas I sat down with $2 in nickles played for hours. I was very late and morning was almost here. I couldn't stay awake any longer and finally had to cash out.

Back then when you cashed out, you got nickels, not paper. So, I filled a gallon bucket with them and carried them to my room. I was going to cash them in the next day, but never got around to it.

I carried all of the nickels home in my luggage...and they were heavy. I had a great time though.

You more than doubled your money in less than an hour...pat yourself on the back, you did good.

DH and I have an Indian Casino within 5 miles of our home and we go at least twice a month. We have an odd routine that works for us. We cash $200 into $5 bills and we each take half. Whichever machines we choose we play a $5 bill; if we lose we move on to other machines but if instead we get at least $7, we cash out and put another $5 in the machine. We continue this way until our time is up (for us that's three hours) or until we have lost $50 or until we get a "big"win (we have won as much as $1000 but usually we lose). Of course, when we go through our initial $200, cash in our coupons and do the routine again.

We go to the casino two or three times a year for dinner, live music, and maybe to play the slots for a bit. We never lose much or expect to win anything. It’s just for fun. Well, my husband won $3,750 a couple of weeks ago. He walked up to where I was playing and told me, and I thought he meant $37.50, which wd have been fine. When I realized what he was saying, I jokingly told him, “I hate you! I never win.” But I was happy not so much about the money but because he had the fun of winning, if that makes any sense. We gave the money to the food bank and no-kill animal shelter that we support.

@Anonymous032819 Good for you. My inlaws loved to gamble, my MIL played the slots and my FIL played Black Jack. Those two were always at the casinos and my MIL won big a few times.
