Our African Safari

We arrived home last Thursday after ten days in Tanzania. I thought I would share with you all our (my husband's) pictures. He is an avid amateur.

@ItsME, good eye! It was an apparently tasty water buffalo.

I would love to share my thoughts about the experience and will do so as soon as I feel up to it. Unfortunately, I am slowly recovering from a pretty severe case of Tourista, hitting me hard probably due to my low body weight. I'll be fine.

Beautiful pictures. But cheetahs one and two are actually of a leopard. Three, however, is actually a cheetah.

@Sushismomthanks. I just told him to check it out.

Our guide told us that the top five to see are the leopard, the lion, the elephant, the Cape buffalo, and the black rhino.

We saw the first four, but despite his efforts we missed the rhino. There are only something like 58 left, up from just three a couple decades ago. The Tanzanians are meticulous about protecting the animals: They have several national parks.

But poachers are wily.

Wow, just wow. Your husband captured the heart and soul of those beautiful animals and the trees and beauty of the country.

I admit, I am a bit jealous. A safari is on my bucket list of things to do.

You are blessed to go there and see how splendid our world really is.
