OUR CHINESE RESTAURANT IS BACK!!

About a year ago our wonderful Chinese place sold to new owners. The new people wrecked the food, discontinued offering brown rice (which I love) and it was horrible. They also changed the name.

The other day just for the heck of it I Googled the previous place and found it! I called and spoke to one of the (old) owners!

She said they had bought out the old place and reopened with the original name. My family is thrilled. I was so jazzed, I told her we all missed them so much and would be back as we used to get take out from them very often.

She said they were happy to be back and they have opened 2 other stores. This one is about 7 minutes driving time from us!!

I know it doesn't sound like much but it's the only Chinese place in a reasonable distance. Getting take out from them today! Yay!

I understand your happiness. Life would be less enjoyable without an occasional plate of Fragrant Beef and egg roll from my favorite Chinese restaurant.

I wish ours would come back.

They closed in 2013 under the guise of remodeling and never reopened. Something else has taken the space.

Nothing like an excellent take-out/eat-in Chinese joint.

My favorite joint in the next town closed down. Store space is still empty.

The town I live in has horriable Chinese joints. I have to travel 2 towns over and cross the pond to find good Chinese food.

I recently found a new Japanese/Chinese (mixed married owners) joint right up the street from me that serves my all time favorite......Spicy Mongolian Beef. Now I no longer have to travel to Chinatown which is in another state!

That's what happened to ours, they remodeled, but the food wasn't the same. Major bummer.

I am lucky, I have two good Chinese Places about a mile from me, and they both have excellent food and service. You can eat in or Take Out....We usually take out, and it is reasonably priced too. I love Chicken Lo Mein, with a side of Rice! Also love Sweet and Sour Chicken......

Truth be told, the best Chinese takeout only places are the ones where "street walkers" frequent. ~~The ones that have bullet proof windows w/a hole to slide your $$ through.~~

@Love my grandkids Pleae have a little something foreem. I LOVE Chinese food and will go out of my way to find a good place with good food.

Our local Chinese place makes the best Singapore Mei Fun, my favorite. Yummy !

I can relate. We found a place about 6 years ago. My friend told us about it and what a great experience it was for them, so we went. The owner was a young guy, trying to open his own place after working for others. The food was AMAZING. Even though we paid a little more, it was worth it. They were always busy, and he was always running around. They also delivered, although we were a little too far for that - we did get takeout a few times.

One night about a year ago we went over and it was closed. There were no signs, so we just assumed it was a family emergency or something. We went back a week later - still closed, no sign. A few weeks after that we noticed a new name and new menu. The lady in the small shop next door said he closed suddenly and told her he was moving to another location. We have tried everything to find him, and no one knows anything, including our friends who frequented there too.

We have a few places near us, but they can't compare to that one.

I miss good Chinese food!

We had a Chinese restaurant on the edge of town, called Gonsea.

We were there when it first opened in the early 1990's, and would dine there often.

They had good food, good employees, good atmosphere.

Fast forward to about 2016 or 2017.

I decided to take my dad there for his birthday dinner, and the food was okay, and not too many people were there, unlike the past, where it would have been packed.

A few days later, I read an article in the local paper, that Gonsea had been shut down, due to having several health code violations.

I felt sick to my stomach knowing that I has subjected my elderly father to their lack of cleanliness.

They cleaned up the place, passed the health code, but that didn't last long, because a few months later, they failed once again, and it has been closed ever since.

So I understand the happiness of having your favorite Chinese restaurant back.
