We Need Some Good News and I Have Some

I live in Central Illinois and yesterday was our St Jude Day. St Jude Childrens Hospital is a big deal around here. We support it with much enthusiasm!

We have have runners that do a Memphis to Peoria run. And then all of the smaller towns and cities do their own Run to Peoria. We even have teams that run from St Louis to Peoria and Chicago to Peoria! They all run to the Peoria Civic Center to kick off the St Jude Telethon on our local tv station, WEEK. The Memphis runners and all others are televised and greeted at the finish line with many cheering spectators.

My daughter ran 18 miles to the Center and raised $1,000.00. We drove along and cheered the runners at their designated stops. Some families have Lemonade Stands along the runners routes to raise money too.

The Memphis to Peoria runners raised $1,152,595.00

The St Jude Runs overall total $5,698,582.00

Our 38 year total $61,921,460.00

With all of the sadness lately we need to remember all of the good things people are doing.

Thank God for places like St. Jude's, the Shriners, and The Children's Inn at NIH (Nat'l Institutes of Health). And a special thank-you to you, @4kitties , for publicizing this great event and to your daughter for her fund-raising (and athletic) accomplishment!

It is just so heartwarming to see all of the support and help they get from businesses and restaurants in our area. Amazon supplied the total board for the telethon and had a representative there manning a phone for donations.

Congratulations to your daughter for raising much needed funds for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. It is a wonderful organization and no one needs to ever worry about bills. I have always supported this wonderful institution founded by Danny Thomas!

I am so happy to read this. The couple that facilitates our Scripture Study, runs for St Jude ,and we all pledge money to them. They are a fine Charity

Yes I do. This weekend was the 11th annual Peletonia to raise money for cancer research at the Arthur G. James and Richard M. Solove Cancer Center at The Ohio State University. These days they're focusing on immunotherapies. It is amazing being this close in prox to this group and seeing - living through all the progresses happening here. To date through 2018 just shy of $14M has been raised/donated.
