I've had almost every Kindle since they first came out, and I've settled on the Voyage.. I love the lighting, the fonts, and having buttons again. I had missed them. Remember - if you go to a Nook, you lose your library.

Update - I see that you bought a Paperwhite. By the way, all those using tablets or computer monitors to read via the Kindle app, a backlit screen is not good for your eyes due to glare. That was one of the big advantages of the Kindles.

Why are you limiting yourself to a “E reader”? I am a big big reader and I read all of the books that I download from the library, Amazon, etc. on my iPad. Any tablet, any size, will do the same thing, plus you’ve got a regular tablet.

I also have a 6S iPhone that is more than large enough to read when I am traveling.

Every device turns into an E reader by simply downloading the app for Amazon Kindle.

I poo pooed the Kindle for years since I had the app on my phone and macbook air. Last fall I decided that while I could read books on my iphone, it was really too small for that. So, I bought the Kindle Paperwhite.

I love it. I've read so many more books since I got it. It's the perfect size: not too big and not too small. Fits in my purse.

I signed up for Kindle Unlimited and while they aren't best sellers, I've read some enjoyable books there. I also get the 'better' books from my library sent right to my Kindle.

It is one of my all time favorite purchases.

I know nothing about the Nook. Sorry. But you can't go wrong with a Kindle, IMO.

Another vote here for the Kindle Paperwhite. I know you can just use your existing tablet but the Kindle is so lightweight. I can hold it in one hand easily while I'm reading in bed and just use my thumb for page turning.

I'm using the newest Kindle Reader and I like it a lot. It came out in the Spring and they call it the All New Kindle Reader. It's light as feather, totally glare free in outdoor light. Which is why I bought it. I wanted to be able to read outside in the brightest sunlight, as if I picked up a paperback. I like that a charge lasts for weeks and weeks so I don't have that exasperating experience of tossing it in my bag and then sitting somewhere to read and having it die after 20 minutes because I didn't remember to charge it. Prior to that, I didn't have an e-reader, I did all my reading on my Kindle Fire tablet.

Hi Tyak: another vote for Kindle. I have both the Paperwhite (love) and the Oasis (love love). While the Oasis is way more expensive, and I debated a long time before buying, I may b coming to like it even more than the Paperwhite. It is shaped like a regular book in that the lines of print are longer, it has a little “ledge” on the side that fits my fingers just right and it will reverse itself from hand to hand, if that males sense.😄. It lives in my purse while the Paperwhite lives at home. I usually read a regular book while also have one going on Kindle. Can’t help about the Nook but always hesitated because I think Amazon will be around longer than Barnes and Noble the way things seem headed. Good luck; it’s nice to have choices!

Too bad you missed out on Prime Day but you might be able to get something off if you turn in your old Kindle. They were offering a 25% discount if you were upgrading along with some off for a trade in.

Hi @TeriT: glad to hear another vote for the Oasis; there is a new 10th generation out, which is a larger screen, newer electro is, etc. Of COURSE I want one. It can’t really justify a trade-in when mines only a couple years ol😄. So I soothed myself with a new cover! Am pretty sure when it comes time to replace the Paperwhite I’ll go with the Oasis. Just like having a wider screen.
