@goldensrbestI've never owned a measuring device smaller than 1/4 of a teaspoon, 1/16th is 1/4 of that so I've always estimated. I dn't cook lots and lots, but I've not had any disasters using that method.

A pinch maybe.

Traditionally, a “pinch” simply meant the amount you could literally pinch between your forefinger and thumb, which usually falls somewhere between 1/16 and 1/8 of a teaspoon. A smidgen is half a pinch (1/32 of a teaspoon), and a dash is a liquid measurement that translates to to 1/8 of a teaspoon

You can buy mini measuring spoons. Amazon has some that measure as little as 1/64th tsp, 1/32nd, 1/16 th. They’re fairly inexpensive.

They sell very small sizes with long handles. Handy for small animal’s medicine.

I don't do much cooking but can that small of an amount make any difference??

Funny thing is that I've been looking for new measuring spoons. So many of them have eliminated the 1/2 tablespoon...........or now are substituting the 3/4 teaspoon.

I've never seen a 1/16th spoon. I'd use a teeny pinch.

@goldensrbest Is it liquid or powder, because if it's liquid you can get a dropper that will have very small measurements marked.

I bought a set of these tiny measuring spoons. But as you can see there are no actual measurements on them. After looking online for how much each spoon will hold, it comes to these:

Smidgen = 1/32 tsp

Pinch = 1/16 tsp

Dash = 1/8 tsp
