topic Poll for those who had a nic name as a child............endearing or annoying? in Community Chat

If you had a nic name or informal version of your own name that you went by as a child like Laurie for Laura, Tammy for Tamara, Debbie for Debra, etc. and you go by the other now that you are an adult how do you feel when someone from your childhood calls you by the name they knew you as....do you find it

endearing? or annoying?

This is not about old friends that are in your current adult professional life but old friends who are only on FB (or like venue) that you only hear from a few times per year or at reunions. Sometimes when I occasionally leave a comment on an old friend's page it feels more comfortable to me to use the name that I knew them by but I don't want to be annoying.
