anyone own one and have oil problems with their car? heard there is a law suit going on because of the oil system in their car if failing. using too much oil. putting oil in the car more then normal. I have this car and it has not happened to me my friend who owns one also has this problem.

I had an Equinox for 12 years. After about 7 or 8 years, it started using a lot of oil. The car was checked for leaks at the Chevy dealer service dept, but there were none. I just made sure I checked it every week and added as necessary. Oil was a regular item on my shopping list.

I have no experience with this but I gave Google a look using “chevy equinox oil consumption” as search criteria. Results were worth examining.

Perhaps reading about class action lawsuits regarding Equinox oil consumption problems will provide insight.

I have a 2013 Equinox, purchased new, no problems with oil. I have On Star which sends me a email update monthly on oil life, tire pressure and any other diagnostic issues with the SUV.

Our son in law has a year old Equinox and loves it. He has a long commute every day and no problems.

Like @KingstonsMom , ours is a 2015 and we've had no problems. It's low mileage so I hope nothing crops up.

Mine has very low mileage too and I've had it for 2 years, with no oil problems.

In reading some of the above links the suit involves year models 2010-2013, so hopefully we're safe!

My husband has a 2013 Equinox and I have a 2018 Equinox.

Neither of us has had any problems with them.

We bought a new one back in 2015 for me to use as a commuter vehicle. I bought the 4 cylinder engine to save gas, which I regret. Other than that, I love it! I love it more than my BMW! I haven’t had any oil problems....knock on wood!

If you are not having any trouble with your Equinox then why are you worrying and borrowing trouble?
