I just love this magazine. I’m not from the South, but my BFF is and she introduced me to this great mag. The homes, gardens, recipes , and the journal at the end by one if my favorite authors, Rick Bragg makes every issue like a mini vacation. The tomato pie on the cover this month is a thing of beauty. Are there other fans here ?

I am receiving this magazine as a replacement because Coastal Living has been discontinued. I don't care for it as well as Coastal Living. I don't care for a mag with a lot of recipes because I hate to cook LOL. I like more spreads of homes and decorating ideas.

I don't plan to renew it when the time comes. I am glad that you are enjoying it!

ME! ME! ME!

I am from the south (SE coastal GA) and this magazine has been a staple in all of my 65 years!

I have plastic tubs of their special edition recipe editions, so many yummy recipes that I grew up on!

I also visit their website frequently for recipes.

I used to receive it long ago, and have many of their annual cookbooks. It was a wonderful magazine.

But, I rarely use recipes anymore. DH likes very simple food and so do I. I cook as healthy as possible, and while he will eat almost anything, he just likes very simple prep without lots of ingredients. Me, too.

A long-ago acquaintance of mine used to write for Coastal Living. She was often the decorator for the HGTV home give away. Since it is no longer publised, I'm wondering if she "retired."

I'm in the same situation, Hubs is a meat & 'taters kinda guy, so I rarely get to use many recipes anymore.

Before all of our family members, including us!, got older and many have diet restrictions, I was the queen of southern desserts at get togethers!

I totally agree! Southern Living is the only magazine to be found in this house.

As a native West Virginian, I was thrilled to see this months article on my beautiful state. The article focused on Fayette County, especially Fayetteville, and the area near the New River gorge bridge.

I am farther south, near the East River Mountain tunnels that join WV and VA. The pictures in the article are typical of what you will see in any county of the state right now. We are very lush and green, and have the protection of these tall mountains covered in trees. The air is clean and fresh here every day, and it is a wonderful place to live.

West Virginia celebrated its 156th birthday on the 20th. Both sides of my family were living in this area before 1860.

I live in the Eastern Pan Handle of WV. and I so agree with your writing, it is a beautiful State. My Mother was a McCoy, so we've been here awhile too. But let's not bragg, we don't want bus loads dumping off in our State.

I was a subscriber for years. It is a great magazine, but now I access it online.

American by birth, southern by the grace of God. ❤️

Edited to add: Coastal living is right up there with Southern living.

Love Southern Living. Have subscribed to it for years. Rick Bragg is a pleasure to read. His last book was great; I gave it to a few friends as birthday gifts and they loved it. I have southern roots and lived in TN for years...my favorite magazine...

@QVCkitty1 I have subscribed to SL since I was in my early 20's, so it has been a long time. I also have just about every one of their cookbooks. The recipes are such that you can cook anything for the first time, even for company, and the food will be delicious.

I’m also a Southern Living Magazine subscriber. I’ve been subscribing for at least 10 years. I also have several of the Christmas Cookbooks.

I love to bake so I enjoy the recipes, it’s one of the few magazines that I still enjoy reading. I keep all of the holiday issues.

I love the magazine. I am not a subscriber but I do pick up their magazine depending on the recipes or areas they highlight.

I have many of their cookbooks and go to their website as well.

Their Christmas and thanksgiving magazines are a must for me.

I received it free for a year as some sort of promotion. It's chock full of recipes and advertsiements (too many ads). I don't cook but passed along the recipes to a friend of mine who does and she thinks the recipes are great. So maybe it's a good investment if you cook, but not so much if you don't.

That's probably one of the first magazines I read. My mom's been a subscriber for years. Family get togethers always have food made from one of their recipes. "Here, you must try this...it's a Southern Living recipe." 😊 I prefer the gardening and interior decorating sections. I've been in a few homes that were built with plans ordered from Southern Living. Very pretty.

i stop everything when the new issue arrives at my house. i might not cook as much but enjoy reading the recipes, seeing their menu ideas which i steal whether i am cooking or not. i like seeing the houses they feature as well. i love to see how people blend periods and styles together. it is one of 2 magazines i physically want to leaf through and read.

I loved it for years, not sure if it's still in Birmingham.

I just looked, they do still have an office in Birmingham

Back years ago they would have local people come through & try their recipes.

I have a couple of the cookbooks, I rarely use their recipes, too many ingredients.

Some of them are classic, I'll make it for holidays or special occasions.

I loved reading each section but just doesn't fit in with my lifestyle today.

I LIKE SL on Facebook and get regular emails that link back to the website.

I quit taking all my magazines years ago. Too much money and poor delivery service.

I used to buy Southern Living and Coastal Living once in a while.What lovely magazines. I didn’t know that Coastal Living is discontinued. The elegance and charm of the places are amazing. 🌸

I have many beautiful home decor pieces from "Southern Living at Home". My cousin was a regional director for their home party plan many years & over the years I've gotten beautiful dishes, outdoor, christmas pieces.

I loved this magazine!

Love the magazine and just got the new issue in the mail this week. The decorating and recipes are great. The tomato pie on the current cover looks yummy! I still subscribe to Good Housekeeping, too. 😊
