It's actually even more beautiful than the photo shows-the upload cut off so many of the flowers at the base

It was $50.00!

Made from 2 Costco cakes, cut and stacked. Re iced with homemade buttercream frosting, decorated with $10 worth of flowers from Trader Joes. Stand was built with materials from Hobby Lobby.

Of course the bride's brother in law is the head pastry chef at the St Ermins hotel in London. That helps lol. He put the cake together to make it look like that.

Our 3 tier wedding cake from a local bakery cost $35. My MIL make 3 attempts to make us a cake before letting me order one, which was prettier and tasted better!

The wedding was frugal.Wildflowers at the reception, Trader Joes bouquets. The cake fed 150 people. Article doesn't say how much the wedding dress was.

I'm sorry, but 2 sheet cakes from Costco and ten bucks worth of flowers from TJs is not worth $50,000.

And re-iced, Holly Lobby pinewood derby materials?

The pastry chef BIL should be ashamed of himself if that's what he charged!

It's pretty, but not worth a thousand dollars.

In this day and age when just about everything 'Wedding' costs thousands and thousands..........

Job well done, and the price is right!

Beautiful, creative cake.

I've seen very, very plain, not very large, off-white/cream three- tiered round wedding cakes with just about one or two real flowers plopped on top that were very, very expensive.

In those venues, I wouldn't be surprised (almost) to see a high price tag in the thousands for a cake similar to this very beautiful one.
