I haven't posted for a long time, but wanted to share my wonderful news. I am a Nana. My daughter had a baby boy on May 15, and I was able to take off a whole month to go and help out. (Fortunately, I had an amazing student teacher, and the substitute teacher basically just had to be in the room.) My little grandson was civilized enough not to be born until I arrived and gave my daughter a baby shower.

I cooked and cleaned and held that darling baby. He smelled so darn good! Some of my favorite times were holding him while my daughter and son in law ate a peaceful dinner. It's hard to eat with a baby in your arms!

Needless to say, I'm in love all over again. It was also quite heartwarming to see my DD become a terrific momma. I'm planning my next trip in October. We have a four day break after school conferences. DH will go out in July. Her husband, my son in law, is a wonderful dad, too. (He's the one who doesn't drink coffee and is a vegetarian for you "old timers" who remember my posts of how they met.)

Happy Summer... Ruby
