How many items a week do you iron?

For me, it’s only 2-3 things/week. I’ll be relocating in the near future and will discard my 30+ year old, rusty ironing board before then.

I’ve seen some more compact ironing boards that might be an okay replacement for once I get resettled. What do other infrequent ironers use?

Zero. More like how many times a year....a few.

ETA: I will occasionally steam some things which come out just as nice as ironing and so much easier!

Once in the evenings in preparation for work. I don't iron ahead of time.

I iron most everything I wear, except for my Liquid Knit items. I’d say anywhere from 5 - 10 items a week. I do it all at once, on Saturdays when I’m doing housework & laundry. I’ve always been an ironer & enjoy it. I like the look of ironed clothes.

I steam about 20 items a month. I HATE ironing. My steamer was a game changer. I can steam a rayon/span top or poly/span in 60 seconds.

I think my iron is buried somewhere in the towels and blankets on shelves above my washer/dryer. Not sure though - it's been a couple of years since I last saw it.

A few reason why I don’t iron much anymore: A more casual life style, fewer 100% cotton clothing items, and a dryer that doesn’t leave my clothing wrinkled...especially if I take things out while still slightly damp, and hang them to finish drying.

I’ll buy a similar washer/dryer combo at my new home.

Generally 0 times a week. I have discovered those dryer balls that look like tennis balls do a good job in the dryer for me. Virtually NO WRINKLES when I take my clothes out of the dryer. I have a Speed Queen dryer.

I'll iron on occasion but I have found a product that really works well if you have a blouse or shirt that only has a few wrinkles. I even use it on my pillowcases.

It's called Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus. It comes in a spray bottle and I just hang the item over a shower rod and then spray it. You sort of tug and smooth the item and just let it hang for a short time.

I wasn't sure if it would work but I was pleasantly surprised at how effective it is.

None, I don't own an iron. I onlly buy pieces that do not wrinkle. Good topic

ZERO!

Once Hubs retired and I finally no longer had to iron his dress shirts/pants for work every week, I make sure the only casual clothes we buy are wash & wear, no ironing required or I don't buy it!

ETA: I do use the wool dryer balls and for the occasional wrinkles I also use the Downey wrinkle releaser spray mentioned above.

Being retired I iron when I am going some place other than grocery shopping .LOL The ironing board I have was my grandmas and it still works. It must be 55-60 years old.

My first reaction... iron? But, I do understand the need for it every little once in a while. For me, that would be sewing and craft projects. As for clothes, I spray them with a wrinkle relaxer or put them in the dryer with a wet towel. I also have a steamer.

I honestly don't remember the last time I turned my iron on. I'm sure that it's well over a year. Maybe two.

@september zip, zippo, ZERO. Couldn't tell you the last time I picked up an iron to iron. But I still have my traditional ironing board, not giving it up. Is there really anything out there that's better suited for the task?

I’m keeping my iron...just looking for a more compact ironing board. I saw something online a while back....trying to track it down again. It was wheeled and had sides that folded. Very compact when folded.
