Really, really, really fast shipping!

I got an email this morning re a new knitting pattern book was available (Linea Pura Book #12-Spring 2019"). Fantastic sweaters - textured cotton yarn Lana Grossa A Mano.

At 11:49 am I ordered the book.

At 12:34 pm I got an email that it was shipped.

Now ... I have a good reason to go buy more yarn!

@ALRATIBA I have tons of really old knitting books. It is for baby clothes mostly. I would like to give them to someone, but I don't have a clue who would want them. Do you have any ideas? The clothing is just so cute, much nicer than patterns they make now

You might want to check around for some charity knitting groups, a senior center or community center.

Some groups knit blankets, sweaters, hats, etc. for needy mothers-to-be.

Check to see if your area has a Sisters for Life order.

JTV has really fast shipping too. Ordered one day, shipping notice that evening and received it 2 days later. Almost as fast as AMZ.

@ALRATIBAGood suggestion. When I held a huge yardsale to minimize what I'd have to move, a local church group bought all my knitting supplies and needle craft kits. They also took the whatever fabric had been rejected by the woman who bought my old sewing machine. I think I got $2 for $40 or $50 worth of odds and ends, but I was pleased to get rid of it and pleased it would be put to good use.

@ALRATIBADidn't mean to move your thread away from your point about fast shipping. Sorry. I wonder if your book is coming from a home-based company. Long ago knew an eBay seller and orders could leave their house almost immediately just as your book did.

I know that's a contrast to QVC - fortunately, my orders still are all arriving within the promised time and I don't order from anyone if I have an immediate need. I did recently receive a pair of shoes overnight from Zappos, but 10 days would have been okay, too.. I tried them on, knew I would keep them, and they've been in the closet ever since. Only ordered when I did because the only color I liked for the shoe I wanted was also the only color that was on sale for $50 off and it was near sellout.

It's a Trendsetter Yarn website. I think they contract with local yarn shops. The shop in my area that carries the book is about 2 miles from me .. so I imagine they are the ones who are mailing it.

Going into a local yarn shop is quite dangerous for me. I can't leave w/o an armful of yarn!

Knitting isn't hard to learn. There are tons of YouTube videos. Another good start are the Sally Melville's Knitting Experience Books. They've been around for years and you can probably find used copies (alibris dot com - is good source of used books).

Also - craft stores like Michaels offer classes.

Try it ... the initial outlay for one set of needles and a ball of yarn can be minimal. (Select the yarn first and read the label to find the size needles to buy.)

I ordered an item, not here, on Friday night and it arrived late Saturday afternoon, and it was via the free route. Can't beat that service.

You are right, JTV has amazing shipping. A few hours after ordering they send a notice that it has shipped. Always receive my goodies 2 days after ordering. Puts QVC to shame.
