I've noticed a couple of new TV commercials featuring young women appearing to be in their late twenties and early thirties. One of these is selling Botox Cosmetic, and the other Juvederm Filler.

I think it's a shame that these companies are trying to convince young women that they need to start injecting their faces with this stuff at such an early age. It's all about big $$$$$$ for the manufacturers of these products.

There's plenty of time for this when women are decades older than that, if we choose to do it at all... JMHO.

Some young women choose to use Botox to prevent lines from forming....they choose to use it before creases show up. I'm not condoning it but that is one of the reasons given.

I've seen commercials that in the past would be considered p*rn, sounds like this is up to who wants to buy it.

I DVR every show I watch and see no commercials unless I choose to do so. Young woman or men are able to make their own decisions, but seems like older adults want to protect them from just about everything in life.

Sure glad my generation wasn't protected against stick ball/climbing monkey bars/and then there are those darn "micro aggressions. Oh, I have had cosmetic surgeries, several, my choice, my money.

hckynut

As if we're all not neurotic enough, now they're targeting twenty and thirty somethings to convince them they need fillers on their beautiful, wrinkle-free skin. It cracks me up when I see the models in these ads. One, their skin is flawless and two, they have no wrinkles. I do know very young people who are constantly searching their faces for that imaginary wrinkle or two. It's sad. Women worry enough about everything and to create this anxiety in young ones is terrible.

Some people in their 30s do have wrinkles and sun damage already. I personally wouldn't get Botox and don't really like the idea of everyone trying to fix every single perceived sign of aging or physical flaw, but these things do exist in people in their 30s.

I remember turning 30 and my friends chipped in to give me a round of Botox from a plastic surgeon. I had zero lines so I was confused. "It's PREVENTATIVE" they said. Apparently a few of them had started Botox in their late 20's to prevent frown lines and the "11's" from starting. Not. Cheap. I didn't do it but had a peel instead. So, getting Botox at an early age has been around for 20 years plus; the advertising is what's new.

My daughter is 22. A lot of her friends are already talking about using Botox when the time comes.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong - but young women are very concerned about their skin and appearance. Plus, their mothers use Botox.
