UPDATE - PRAYER REQUESTS FOR YOUNG MOTHER

My DH drove my IL to Boston today, hoping to get a chance to speak with surgeon and, of course, to see Brittany. Did not happen, and I guess there will be a meeting in about a week.

The surgery involved using an occasional MRI to remove cancer, without doing damage to healthy tissue. Brittany is still in ICU, was groggy of course, and on IV for pain. They did get her up on her feet for a few minutes, so essential. She was very happy to see my DH and in-law.

According to Brittany’s hubby, surgeon said they removed 70% of tumor. Don’t know if this correct yet. Her type of brain cancer is one of the hardest ones to deal with. She did have another MRI while they are there, but no answers. I know it will take a while to analyze tissue sample.

She he will be going home, and it sounds like having chemo there. But so much is up in the air. We are hoping she will qualify for a clinical trial, as one we have read has been effective in her type of cancer. But we will have no idea until tissue is examined, as there are quite exacting parameters.

This is all I know. I do hope they got more than 70%. She will certainly fight this with everything she has. I do want to see her soon and tell her about all the wonderful people here who are praying for her. Again, this has touched my heart so much.

Fred Rogers’ mother is said to have told him, “Look for the helpers.” All you people here are more than “helpers.” I do appreciate your continued prayers.

I apologize for all the confusion I have caused. Brittany’s husband was confused. We think all that registered was what surgeon told him what he suspected would be the results. I do understand, due to his extreme stress and lack of sleep.

The news is that Brittany is now 99.9% cancer free.

Thanks to each and everyone who offered support and prayers. I am most grateful to God for this major blessing.

My dad (age 52) cancer was found in 1970 (brain tumor behind ear--he lost his hearing in left ear that began whole saga). he fought so hard, he survived 16 years. The doctors did surgery, took out what they could so many tentacles to take it all out. they sent him home to die. he fooled everyone. Somehow he fought the cancer hard till he could not fight it any longer, he finally passed from it at age 68.

cancer has a mind of its own. keep fighting, my family learned this from my dad.
