It is so bitterly cold here tonight..WE worked at the soup kitchen and a lady came with a group of developmentally challenged adults

One poor fellow had a very hard time negotiating the stairs, and the door had to be held open for quite a while so he could slowly enter the building..The lady in charge apologized ...They went into the dining room to wait for the meal to be served

WE must do it according to the clock, a certain time to serve, they can't get seconds until so much time has passed..This allows stragglers and late comers to receive a portion of food too...After about 30 minutes have passed they may come up for seconds.....

While they were waiting the serenaded us with carols..WE heard all kinds of songs from popular to religious...They certainly knew how to enjoy the moment ..WE gave them a big round of applause when they had finished

I thought, how well they carry the meaning of Christmas, inside themselves...sharing their joy with those of us who were privileged enough to hear them....a gift of the magi, indeed
