Ive found a feather or two in fried chicken over the years I took no issue with it..its a natural part of the bird. the US Food Adminsitation would laugh at your complaint after they hung up with you. Ive also found human hairs in my food. I just discard that portion and eat around it. I don't believe in wasting food when so many people around the Globe are starving.

As good as this chicken smells at times, I never buy it. Mainly, I just don’t trust the safety of food products in any of the deli areas around here.

I am not in these stores often enough to keep track of how fast the meats and salads sell. I do pay attention to the inspection reports by the health department, which increases my desire to be cautious with food prepared by anyone but me.

Although it would have been preferable to have the chicken plucked better, a feather isn’t a health issue.

I eat fish and have to pluck out bones. I eat some types of meat and have to cut out fat and bones. Removing a feather isn’t a big deal, in my world.

Why would anybody purchase the chicken a second time? Even watching carefully while the new purchase is put in a box-if there is a hint of unsanitary practices then the feathers are not the issue.

I've seen a stray feather/hair or two through the years on raw poultry and from what I understand they are harmless. Skeeve worthy yes. Harmful, no.

Considering feathers from processing poultry are used as part of the feed for other poultry, pigs, etc. you are going to eat those feathers one way or another. LOL

Folks this is overblown. If we ever worked in meat processing plants many would likely turn vegan. This is a natural phenomena. Food by nature is never sterile. That's we have billions of bacteria in our gut that processes it. The human body is amazing. A few stray hairs is the least of the problems with our food supply .... Pesticides, E Coli, salmonella, Mad Cow disease, waxy resins used on vegetables.etc.
