Winter is Finally HERE!

The winter snow storm came through and in my area only 3.5 inches but some surrounding areas had up to 10 to 12 inches. This is Chicago area. Now it is extremely cold below zero tonight and the next 10 day forecast calls for 20 and below degrees except for 1 or 2 days. This weather was the norm when I was growing up in Chicago. How about you?

It's supposed to turn colder tomorrow with winds of 50-70mph around the state.

In S Florida it's 40 degrees tonight and windy......freezing for us, not used to it! brrrrrrrrrrrr

It's -1 and the wind is terrible here in Massachusetts. Everyone stay warm.

I feel so bad for the pups! Mine isn't going to be happy going outside. Still under the covers hiding right now.

I'm in Chicago too. It's bitterly cold out. I drove my husband to the airport and the temp was 8 degrees.

It's January - we still have a ways to go. *sigh*

Thankfully we didn't get a lot -- not like that predicted ---at least so far! But it is terribly cold. I am not even leaving the house today. It's just bitter out there.

We received 8" where I'm at. And very windy. At least the temperature is above zero today. Every day is one more closer to spring.

Well, my hometown made the "places with terribly cold temperatures" chart on the Today Show this morning at -13. We got roughly 8 inches of snow over the weekend but it didn't slow anyone down. It's winter. It gets cold and it snows. It's not a big surprise.

We didn’t get any snow here in the DC suburbs, but it is freezing cold! Yesterday it was so windy that trees and power lines were down all over the place. They’re predicting highs in the mid-20’s with wind chills below zero. They’re telling folks to stay inside unless they absolutely have to go out.

We only received a bit over half a foot of snow, but it is brutally cold and windy. Wind chill factor is about 28 degreees below. I am grateful for a warm and safe home and hope and pray all homeless are safe in shelters. Also grateful to all those working to keep us warm and safe here in CT. Take care, all forum friends.

We got a light dusting last night on top of the snow we already had. The tempeture is 12.

It's 5° and -16° wind chill in Boston right now. Way too cold! Cannot even go near windows because cold is coming right through the glass. Everything is covered in frosty ice from snow, sleet & freezing rain yesterday. Non-main sreets not even sanded or salted yet so vehicles are spinning & spinning wheels to go up the streets.

Yesterday we took our dog, a collie, for a walk in the park. Our dog likes the cold and generally he likes being out in it.

Well after walking and having his fur blowing sideways for parts of the walk. The dog decided he had enough and he led us back to the car. We aren't going to attempt walking in the park today.

BRRRR!

Frigid temps here and getting colder in the upcoming days. Wouldn't even consider going outdoors unless I absolutely had to. It's dangerous.

I still cannot imagine anyone wanting this. I will take heat anytime. You just cannot get warm in this cold. So bring me summer. I would be happy if I never had another winter. I cannot name 1 thing I like about winter.

@meallen616 7 degrees this morning. Ugh I am in central NJ and we did dodge a bullet with snow but we got so much rain that lots of areas are just frozen over. My dog had to go to the vet this morning & neither one of us were happy campers!
