Glued on and some kinds of glue are not good for your lashes...makes them brittle.

They use an adhesive. They’re applied individually and need to be touched up every few weeks.

As far as the length, that depends on what look you’re going for. Look online to see what they look like

@EatWell I'm no expert and haven't worn them in years; however, I will say that you would be happiest with "sparse" lashes. Nothing screams fake lashes more than those really thick too long ones. They seemed to have come into fashion again. I see them everywhere. Yesterday, dh and I were at the dollar store picking up cards and the gal that checked us out had ones on like I mentioned above. Too thick. Yikes.

You can get what's called 'partial extensions' where they apply individual hairs to the outer-sections of your lash line and it looks more natural that way.

I believe you can buy "demi's" if you want a strip and not individuals.

Mine used to individually applied with glue. But they don’t last long. Down with drain with your money.

I've watched Youtube tutorials on them. Each lash hair is applied with glue separately. You're not supposed to curl your lashes or put mascara on them. And in my opinion they look ridiculous and fake.

Evine had false eyelashes that were attached with magnets. They looked easy to put on and natural looking. The presentation was interesting.

IMO, it's an expensive proposition with the obligation of regular upkeep. Not for me. I've had great results using Consult Beaute Copperum 29 eyelid treatment that also enhances lash growth and then using an excellent lash primer and mascara.

There is also a product that creates long and lush lashes by applying keratin fibers to your lashes. It's a sandwiching method. First you apply a regular mascara. Then while that is still wet, you apply the fibers. A final coat of mascara is applied on top of the fibers to sandwich and seal the fibers in and keep them in place until you wash your eye makeup off. I don't recommend this if you wear contact lenses or if you have sensitive eyes. Application of fibers seems to always have some of them get into your eyes but it's not toxic, only a little irritating. Tilting head forward while applying seems to remedy the situation a great deal.

@SilleeMeea friend of mine sells Younique products. I know there are people here who probably don't like the company or the products. I cannot endorse everything in the line. However, Younique has a 2-step mascara and fibers system that is one of their biggest sellers. Rolling the fiber wand on your hand, to pack the fibers on the brush, helps to prevent that fallout. You're right, though, a "sealing" application of the mascara over the fibers is a must.

I am having eyelash extension professionally applied in a couple of weeks. I'll see how I like them. I don't want anything crazy looking or overly long and fake looking. The reviews for the place I am going to were excellant and they all said the lashes are natural looking and that the girl who applies them does a great job doing what you want as far as length.

I have tried that Younique 2 step system and hated it. I remember when it first came out, there were all those freaky pictures of eyes all over social media. LOL

I am a contact lense wearer and no matter what I tried, that system caused me problems. I had black fibers in my eyes and all over my contacts. I wish I would have returned the system because it wasn't cheap but I ended up throwing it in the trash. I also didn't like the way it looked. It had a very spidery effect which isn't my thing.

I've worn them over 8 years. A good salon does a consultation and are very experienced. You tell them the look you want, curled, straight, thick or thin & they show you the lash.....and advise you

Extensions should look natural and not like Elsie the cow. Properly applied lashes are undetectable, no one has ever asked where I get my lashes done but just that I have pretty eyelashes. You must go for touch ups every two weeks and it's an indulgence I enjoy. So just like we shed real eyelashes, you shed extensions. A good salon will consult with you, show and example and ask you what look you prefer. My salon does a "natural lash" "party lash" Full, partial etc

Of course you are taking a chance of an allergic reaction, just like you are taking a chance when you apply mascara or any lash product. You could have had a reaction to the Careprost.

OMG---yesterday had a conversation with a PA at the dr office----and she had on the most gawd awful set of lashes I have ever seen!! Looked like they were zig zag cut and all I could see were this jet black pair of ......fuzzy caterpillars--I have no Idea what she was talking to me about as I was so distracted---------had to ask the front desk girl. Have not seen any lash extensions on someone that didn't look like-----lash extensions!!!! Not sure what their purpose is......
