Alan Simpson's excellent and humorous eulogy. "Relax, George told me I only had 10 minutes. He was very direct about it; it wasn't even funny."

Was it five presidents? Who did I miss? I saw Trump, Obama, Clinton, and Carter in the front row.

@You are right @World Traveler- there were 4. I was thinking 5 including Pres GW Bush.

@bathina Oh, yes; you are correct. I was just looking at the front row on one side of the aisle.

WOW! Is that the only time there have been five living presidents all together? That is rare, I think.

1994 for Nixon funeral they were all there. Ford, Carter, Clinton, Bush, and Regan.

The presidents were drawn to California for the opening of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The Times reported:

My big take away, and I see it at every 'state' function, most especially memorials, is that when it all comes down to an ending, these people are just people. They had their differences but moved beyond them and regardless of their respective sides of the aisle. Many one time adversaries have become fast friends and even those who haven't are joined by a mutual admiration and respect. They all seem to realize the enormity of the task and to recognize that they each did what they thought right. We the people might take a lesson...

I'm so impressed at how the family held it together with kindness and graciousness. There were a few hands I might not have wanted to shake, but the family showed me how to show charity and respect to all. As for me, I was a puddle of tears for most of the service.
