A friendly non argumentative reminder

Judging and making personal attacks on people because they have a differing opinion from yours shouldn't be allowed on these boards or anywhere else. If there was more acceptance, this world would be a better place.

@K9buddy I agree with you in a way about judging. I think we have gone way too far about that coming to a place where people feel constrained from differing right and wrong. It's leading to more and more crime.

How much I agree with you. We can have our cherished beliefs, but as for influencing others, that does not really happen, IMHO.

Just hold tight to your truths, truths that do not denigrate others to keep you going, however. (Not you, personally, but all of us, in general.)

Those who insist theirs is the only way to believe disturb the peace.

My belief is that there are miserable people sitting in their little desk chairs (or on their tablets) waiting to attack others because it makes them feel big. The main person you are speaking of constantly defies all "rules." But guess what, after awhile the Moderators vanquishes them from the Boards which I hope is very soon.

@K9buddy......Thanks for the reminder. We all know some just can't exist unless they are making personal attacks. In my book, it is so hurtful. We need to remember that when a person judges folks on here, they are only hurting themselves..... Folks need to keep their judgements to themselves..... Remember.....words can and do hurt. And there is enough hurt in this world and we don't need anymore.

According to the Standards, it's personally insulting or harassing posts that are prohibited. There is no prohibition of differing opinions.

Therein lies the dilemma: Who decides what when a strong disagreement crosses over the borderline?

I think that it is the mod's job to make that decision.

@suzyQ3. And some of the posters who lecture about this are the worst offenders. Always looking to get other posters banned and even state it in their posts!

Not directed to the OP, but in general.

We have turned into a nation of lily livered sissies. Everything hurts feelings. We are all entitled to live in the clouds and look at rainbows daily.

Even the kids at schools have turned into big cry babies. kids are not allowed to tell another child that they do not want to be their friend...even if the kid is a bad influence and their parents have forbid them to be friends.

Now this powder puff stuff is showing up in adults. Get over it.

This is life. Not everyone is your friend. Not everyone likes you and not everyone agrees with you.

It's not that big of a deal. If someone says something that you feel is wrong or hurtful, you can ignore it or tell them to knock it off.

Crying and complaining because someone attacked you verbally on a forum is just nuts. You don't even know these people.

No person on this forum can bully you if you don't allow them to get to you.

The real world is not Camelot. Time to face up to facts.

I enjoy posting here and love to hear the views of others even if they do not agree with me.

I feel that everyone is trying to express their views on things. Yeah, sometimes I get rattled, but so what?

I am an adult, not a child. I can take it. If things get bad, the mods will delete it. I don't always agree with them, but they are doing their best and I appreciate them.

The Mods decide what's acceptable here & I don't want to be protected from others judgements & attacks on other sites...only those who don't have the facts to support their views stoop to that.

@Carmie. The rainbows and lollipops on these forums are the Mods idea. Look at reasons they poof a post! If everything on here is not happy happy joy joy, out the window it goes. If not immediately then soon after. What choice does anyone have. Nothing to do what you are saying. But there a plenty of message boards where you can post true feelings, nice or nasty.

You know, I keep reading about all these nasty personal attacks on posters, but I seldom see any.

What is considered a personal attack to some is just normal conversation to others with a different opinion.

I wonder how some people survive in the real world with such sensitivities.

@Carmie I agree with what you said. I work with 4 year olds everyday. If they are playing with a toy and another child wants it, there is this pause as if they will get in trouble if they don’t hand the toy right over. NOOOOO! I tell them they do not have to give it to them and they can say NO. It’s funny how some adults shame them for not “sharing.” No, it’s called not giving in! What is wrong with a child who DOES NOT get what they want, when they want.

We are not doing our kids favors by giving every kid a trophy, medal, etc. That’s not how it is in this big world and when these kids become adults they still throw they’re tantrums when they don’t get what they want.

It’s okay to disagree and/ or not want to be friends with someone. It’s a personal choice.

Heres what I taught my son when he began school. If you are being bullied and you ask them to stop and they don’t, then you have every right to stand up to someone even if it means physically. I taught him to be thick skinned!

There are those in this world who feel they can say and do what they want without consideration for others. Makes you wonder about how happy they really are in their life.
