Utah comes alive in a spectacular array of fall colors

Utah's Logan Canyon is putting on quite a show. As autumn sets in, the forests have transformed into a dazzling display of colors.

Logan Canyon is located in the Bear River Mountains of northeastern Utah, and the variety of hues and tones are from the assortment of trees that dot the landscape — Douglas hawthorn, canyon maple, scrub oak, quaking aspen, serviceberries, evergreens and more.

Photographer Justin McFarland has lived in Utah for 42 years, and every fall he captures images and even drone footage of the changing leaves.

We'll just let these images speak for themselves...

Gorgeous place. I'm still planning my road trip to see the Mighty 5: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion.

I've live in Salt Lake Valley for 63 years. I've been to many of the canyons during the fall seasons and I've never seen purple trees.

One of the most beautiful trips to the west we have ever taken was flying into Phoenix, driving to Sedona for a few days, then to Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion. The scenery is just spectacular in Utah, as well as Arizona. Quite a change from where we live.

Gorgeous! I just drove through that area yesterday and it looks exactly like that. It drizzed a little yesterday and the fragrant smells from the vegetation are just as much fun as the visual beauty.

Utah is stunning and one of my favorite states to visit.

LOL, that's what I was thinking. I live on the Wyoming side of the Uintas. Why enhance something that is actually beautiful.

@sweetee2. I hesitated to say anything until you did, but it looks to me like those photos have been greatly color enhanced. Anyone familiar with Southwest vegetation knows there's a preponderance of yellows and just occasional spots of other colors. There are places where there are small stands of maples but they're few and far between.
