ITS NOT TOO EARLY TO THINK ABOUT THIS!!!

I know I sound like QVC ---its only 2 months away but here's a list of Thanksgiving store closures for 2018:

Retailers are beginning to reveal their holiday shopping plans......

BJ’s, Nordstrom, The Home Depot and Costco are among the companies that will not open their doors on Thanksgiving Day, which this year falls on Nov. 22, according to website BestBlackFriday.com.

“According to our recent 2018 survey, only 24.67% of Americans actually favor Thanksgiving openings,” said Phillip Dengler, co-owner, BestBlackFriday.com. He added that 47.66% dislike Thanksgiving openings, while 27.67% are indifferent.

In certain locations, some stores do not have the option of being open on the holiday. Thanksgiving Blue Laws in the states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine prevent stores from being open on the holiday, Dengler added.

Black Friday is a tradition in my area. We have two big malls that do a fantastic business on Black Friday. There are only a few stores on that list in either of the malls. I don't shop Black Friday at the mall simply because of the horrendous crowds.

I don't go to stores on Thanksgiving. I don't go on Black Friday, either. I do my shopping from home on Friday so that I don't have to deal with parking and crowds.

Only go to the grocery store since it is dead as a doorknob. Have not shopped on a black Friday since I had to work them back in high school/college days. Yikes!!, every little bit helps the clerks is the way I look at it. Much less even think of shop on a precious holiday like Thanksgiving.

Have never shopped on Black Friday. I have a friend that went out on Friday and didn’t go home until her shopping was done.

I’ve shopped on Black Friday, with my sister, every year since the 70’s. We have a great time. We start at about 6:30 AM or so.

As for stores being open on Thanksgiving, my feelings on that have kind of changed the last few years. I’m not really a fan of holidays anymore and while I’ve never gone to a store on Thanksgiving before, I can see me doing it now. Having them open doesn’t bother me at all and it used to.

Good for them. Their employees should be able to celeebrate their holiday with their friend/ families like the rest of us. I do, though, go out black friday, but not till mid a.m.

Good. I think all non emergency places should be closed on the 2 "American" holidays: July4 and Thanksgiving. Mandated by law.

If companies/services want to close on xmas day or MLK Day or arbor day or whatever, fine do so. But everything should be closed on July 4 and Thanksgiving.

Everyone wants to buy American, well support 2 American holidays buy closing.

I don't shop go to stores on BF. Stores can remain open or close on holidays. Not everyone celebrates the holidays.

I worked retail, and worked on holidays. I got paid more, and fit my schedule around the holidays.

I dont like shopping on Thanksgiving---the retailer workers should get the day off to spend time family/friends AND/OR rest up for the busy holiday shopping season that's ahead, some workers have to be at the store at 3 AM or 4 AM..... I never was a Black Friday shopper either---just as good or better deals throughout the season......

I know single moms that dont like it and any extra money goes to pay for day care on those days that charge higher prices for holidays and there's no one else to watch the kids. 😡

@blackhole99.......this is about stores that will be closed THANKSGIVING DAY.....not the day after (Black Friday).....

This is sad news because many who work retail are eager to volunteer for the holiday overtime pay & bonuses...they count on the extra money.

The only store that i go to on Black Friday is Home Depot for the $.99 poinsettias. I load on on these a pray that the heat in my area doesn't kill them.
