As my granddaughter would say, “He rounds up to 80.” I was a college freshman when the Beatles had their first US hit. The corridors in our dorm were filled with Beatles music. Still, it’s hard to believe that this iconic group has been halved and that Ringo and Paul are old...but cool...guys. In 2020, not so far off, the Beatles’ break-up will be 50 years past.

Ringo seems to have keep it all together his entire career....he and Paul both take care of themselves and are living full lives.

George was a big smoker and had genetics for lung cancer....and poor John just met an early demise because of one crazy man with a gun.

Ringo was a terrible alcoholic. When he got sober a few years ago he said he doesn't remember a lot of the past. I believe he said both he and his wife got sober. He seems very happy now.

@proudlyfromNJ I did not google search Ringo. I just thought he lived a clean life as you never heard of him getting in trouble....glad he got sober.

He used to hang out with Keith Moon and Harry Nilsson so it was to be expected.

A shame he doesn't remember any of it because it was probably great material for a cable mini-series.

Saw Ringo & His All Starr Band on July 9, 2014 in Albuquerque and they were fabulous. He might not have been my favorite Beatle in 1964 but he became my favorite 50 years later.

Happy Birthday, Ringo - my favorite Beatle. I saw them in concert when I was in high school and have seen Ringo and his All Starr Band twice in concert.

It's startling to me how old the Beatles are. I never realized how much older than me they are. I'm 69, i guess I thought they were in their early 70's.

78..he's 20 years older than I am. That just doesn't seem right...lol It doesn't feel right. I think that in my heart, I will always think of the Beattles as being just a few years older than me. It's like they got to a certain age in my mind and never got any older.

I was four when The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and I remember watching with my two older sisters.

The Beatles -- and the ensuing British Invasion -- were a huge part of my childhood. They disbanded the same day my father died in 1970.

And he is 1 day shy of 13 months younger than me. My wife is a Beatles historian, and she has always loved Sir Paul. Even went to England to see the Beatles perform. Not my favorite, but he has certainly aged well.

I LOVE the Beatles, especially Paul.

Many years ago, my friend's sister-in-law was friends with the female who started the Beatles Fan Club in Los Angeles (Beverly Hills). She used to visit Paul in England often.

My favorite singer was Elvis --- and favorite band is the Beatles. And - look how long they survived.

I read that Paul has some memory problems now!!!!
