40 Days and 40 Nights

That's how long it seems like it's been raining.....

Once again, it's raining in Virginia...I'm not talking about drizzle, I'm talking about a straight and steady downpour!

I told Bill the cat a few minutes ago so help me if I hear our weather people talk about a draught I'm going to throw something at my TV (and that means I'm serious 'cause I love my TV).

So how's the weather in your neck of the woods? Send us a rowboat, please!

DH told me thundered and lightened in the night but I was out like a light. I’m sorry your state is having lots of rain and flooding. Pictures are terrible. Unfortunately Mother Nature is out of our control.☔️⛈🌊

106. But last week was cool, overcast. We have had very few clear warm days , over 70 this spring. Hot weather just started, but by next week it will cool down. I love in a hotter area of California too!!!!!

@Annabellethecat66 It is lovely where I am right now. About 70 and sunshine. If we had a transporter like on Star Trek I would tell Scotty to beam you up and you could visit and leave that rain!

I feel your pain! It's been raining here nearly every day. Some days its lighter and off and on. Other days, its an out and out just downpour --- very fierce with thunder, lightening, wind -- the works! Very scary. I am terrified of these types of weather conditions. Not to mention, we wait so long for spring and summer and then we hardly get any nice weather! Spring was lousy--- it kept snowing and snowing and so cold. Now, here we are at almost July and we are in this monsoon type weather event! Very depressing!

Same here @Annabellethecat66 in SW PA.

I have a big pot of sunpatients on my deck that are getting water logged. Every time it looks like rain I pick the pot up and move it underneath the eaves; when the skies clear I move it back to the side table. Yesterday I must have moved that potted plant fives times and I was away from home part of the day.

My area of southern West Virginia is getting the rain too. My husband was out on Friday afternoon when the sky opened up and poured out buckets and buckets of rain; thankfully he was still tied up at the auto center getting his truck serviced, as it’s treacherous to try to drive in rain that heavy. By the time he started for home, the rain was barely a light drizzle. A second downpour came before bedtime.

We have been stuck in this pattern for over a week now; rain showers off and on every day. Farmers are still trying to get first cuttings of their hay, so the rain is making that process very difficult. The rain has been very beneficial to those with well water. My brother is very happy with the level of water in his well, which is supplying enough water for showers and laundry.

@RedTopYes! You are right (about the rain being beneficial to some). My friend has a well. He also has a very large garden that supplies me with wonderful corn and the best tomatoes you've ever eaten.

I remember there were times last summer when he was very worried about having enough well water to water the garden. He was worried he might have to go deeper, but thank goodness, he didn't.

Just goes to prove 'there are two sides to everything'. Right?
