Objectively, I've always felt that the U.S. flag is one of the most original, most aesthetically pleasing, as well as deeply meaningful, flags in the world-- one to always admire and cherish for its significance....

Ironic, if one thinks about it....military members dishonoring the Flag.

@sidsmom They are most likely preparing to fold the flag, making sure that no part of the flag touches the ground (another part of the flag code).

The flag in the picture is not quite horizontal anyway.

I will be wearing red, white and blue and the American flag pin that my immigrant father gave me over 50 years ago. I wear it every year to honor the United States and my father.

That pin gives me a very special feeling. It connects me to not only him but his fervent love for his adopted land.

How wonderful that you have your so-meaningful flag pin to wear, @golding76. I fervently wish I still had mine that went missing a few years ago. Running errands this beautiful morning though, I deliberately wore my cotton shirt with stars all over it...

Just put up a brand new 6'x4' Flag(made in USA) last week on our 30' flag pole. Broke 1 of the flag clips, so had to improvise. Just received 4 new clips in the mail yesterday, but haven't put them up yet. Grass was getting tall so mowed our acreage instead.

Just a few minutes ago I ordered a pair of gold USA Flag stud earrings, been wearing 1 in my right ear for months now. Decided to balance it out with 2 new ones. Have my NY Rangers hockey team logo, gold stud, in my left ear. Have a #2 Nascar stud along with the Flag in my right ear. Plan on wearing the Flag pair when I receive them.

I love Old Glory!

large flags, in order to control the weight of the actual flag, are flat.

And as the pictures shows...it’s not ‘aloft and free’.

So when we begin to ‘dishonor/disrespect’ the flag, let’s begin

with the events like the one shown above. Military should know this.

Thank you for the Flag Day history, Oznell. I don't believe I ever firmly learn all the details of the background. I learn and then forget details.

I returned a few minutes ago from my local strip mall, and I was delighted to spot about five other individuals wearing a red, white and blue outfit like me.

Oh, that is so cool, @golding76. I didn't realize you were going to be wearing red, white and blue today, in addition to your cherished flag pin.

I've done that too! Today I did deviate a bit-- wore red, indigo and beige. But I believe it "approximated" the patriotic look I was going for, ha.

@sidsmom I never mentioned a hill. I think you are picking at the Military just to pick. I feel the flag is being folded; we have no idea how the flag came to be in that picture so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Every Flag Day and Fourth of July I try to wear red, white and blue. Rarely does it not work out.
