Do you tweet?

I never have, and really don't understand the point in doing it. Is there any useful purpose to it?

I see Twitter as being fast at reporting breaking news. I won't do Twitter. I'm very happy using Facebook and always see breaking news one step behind Twitter. Too many meanies on Twitter.

In many cases the old saying, " Better to be silent and thought a fool, than speak and remove all doubt", would apply to many Twitter users. LOL

I do and do not do FB. I love following all my local news, city government, and police ect.. to get updates and such. Not to mention other larger media outlets and I enjoy tweets from Reba Mcentire and other artists. Do not send out more than a few a year myself and mine is secured, so someone must ask permission from me to follow me. I have denied many after looking at their own board. Pretty much just use it as a what is going on in my little world.

I think they are more responsive to it than emails

I use Twitter to organize my news---I have a list of all my favorite regular news columnists and a separate list for all my sports news (columnists, players, team sites etc)....It makes it convenient and easy to have it all on Twitter, I dont have to jump from phone APP to phone APP to get my news, or jump from website to website on my laptop/tablet-----easy peasy....

I just occasionally tweet to someone on my list to ask a question, or comment and have gotten some good info, or nice comments back, but mostly as I said I use Twitter to READ my news and keep up with my sport's teams!!!

I have an account, but I don't tweet that much. It's just another form of social media. You can follow your favorite singers, sports players, actors - and your friends. Interesting place.

I only use my face book and twitter account to enter sweepstakes and contests. That is all. I sent tweets to enter if I need to.... but really do not understand anything about them.

I have never sent a text on a phone in my life....... I do not like phones and only have a phone for emegencys in my car and it is over 15 years old...... I am probably an odd ball here!

I do not have the need to tweet or go on face book. I read my two newspapers every day and get news from TV. I find that to be enough and I also keep my time on the computer to a minimum. I have a full life and many people in it who I see in person.

With that being said, I do not have anything against tweets or face book , they serve a purpose for many but not for me.

It really saves me time to see a tweet about something that may interest me enough to go further somewhere else for more coverage about the event. I do enjoy following several food bloggers and get some great recipes from their tweets and some of no interest whatsoever @Spurt

I really like Twitter. It's the fastest with the news. I follow many newsmakers and columnists plus artists. It's much better than FB, IMO.

Occasionally.

It's just another form of communicating with people , not unlike doing so on this or any other social media site.

There is a much broader range of topics on Twitter than there is here as well as a much larger usership. You learn where you fit in there. It's not all nastiness that some would tell you, although there is plenty of that, depending on the topic.

The point is the same as here. To express your opinion and maybe chat a little with other people who are likeminded or who disagree.

Yes Twitter is a real time saver, and as you said if you want to delve deeper, there is usually a link included in the tweet --real convenient.....

With Twitter's privacy settings, it is easy to control who can follow you and reply back. Although there is a risk with any social media, I think that Twitter is much better than Facebook in that regard. Too many times it's friends of friends on Facebook that can place you in uncomfortable or unwanted situations....you dont have that on Twitter!

No to tweeting and No to facebook. I enjoy time with my 17 yr old grandson who just graduated from highschool (very proud of him)and my other grandson who is 2 (Mr Busy)
