Meghan and Prince Charles

THIS is interesting. I particularly like the part that says she cares more about royal history than Harry. They are making her out to be a saint. She's not - she's just a newlywed in love trying to bond with her in-laws.

"Meghan Markle has allegedly done more than just get Prince Harry to give up smoking and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Daily Mail is now reporting that the Duchess of Sussex has helped both Harry and his brother Prince William repair their strained relationships with their father, Prince Charles. The two held some resentment toward him, Daily Mail detailed, because they believed he was absent during much of their childhood. Palace insiders told the outlet that William had even "been known to raise his voice at his father."

But Markle is changing things: "Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm," a family source told Daily Mail. "She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more."

Charles was very impressed with Markle—and showed more support for her than any of Harry’s other girlfriends. He told friends, "She is so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more." Harry was reportedly "visibly moved" by his father's embracing of her.

"There has been a wedding bonus for all the family: a sort of mega-watt warming effect," the source said. Even William is "said to be defrosting under Meghan’s influence," Daily Mail reported.

Charles and Markle really connect because of her fascination of royal history (she cares more than Harry, even) and because "Charles sees his work ethic and his passion for philanthropy reflected in Meghan." Markle is also close to Camilla, Charles’ wife; Daily Mail reports the two have become friends."

I saw a documentary recently on Harry about how he wanted to leave all the royal BS behind him. I am therefore not surprised that Meghan cares more than he does at this point.

Times sure have changed since the Diana days and Harry is way in the back of the line and is unlikely to ever be king. Hope this is reason enough for them to leave this couple alone to be happy.

Sounds like a girl from a broken home trying to patch another one up. Good for her. Her kids are going to be forever a part of this family. Very smart to make it the best it can be especially under so much pressure.

Although the part about William raising his voice to his father ....show me the one kid that never did.

I think whoever (here) said Harry was looking for a mother and his wife will be in charge is absolutely correct.

@beach-mom I read this earlier in the day also, and my first thought was that it was greatly exaggerated (if at all true, which we don't know) because for years and years I've read articles by, and heard commentary from, those "professional" royal watchers - you know, the same ones who have followed the royals for years in England and comment about them, say that Harry and William really love their father. This was always in the context of whether they could ever really accept Camilla. The commentators have repeatedly said - since the boys were teens, that they very much love their father. Which made me question this story you posted, or at least how as I wrote, I think it's been exaggerated.

Meghan was young and would not know about the torrid affair that 'ole Charles had with Camilla (Meghan said in an interview she knew little about the monarchy.) The boys have every right to be bitter with their father. And no surprise that she gets along with Camilla ... "birds of a feather." I agree with the previous poster before me~~M.M. is a Gold Digger!

I think we are at point in the culture where we pretty much accept that a lot of the news is made up. Most of the time we are being herded like sheep to the articles. I bet no one knows for certain if there's truth to the piece except those written about.

I agree about ladies being ugly. It makes me think they aren't happy in their own lives. It just isn't on this thread but many others. I guess I don't have to read anymore. So sad!
