What are you doing for your Mother on Mother's Day?

I am taking my 88 year old Mom to her neighborhood Garden Center and buying her flowers for her pots, then going back to her house to plant them!

When I asked her if she would like to do that, she said she was hoping that was what she would get! She says at her age she doesn't want to do it herself and she has everything else she needs, she's thrilled!

My mother will be celebrating her 96th birthday this weekend. Both of my daughters and their families, as well as my brother and his family will be celebrating the birthday/Mothers’ Day with her. I am still sick with bronchitis and my husband, who has Alzheimer’s, will not be driving down to celebrate. I sent a beautiful bouquet and will spend several days in June with my mother. I am very grateful that I can still celebrate this special day.

My mother is coming to our home Friday for lunch. DD is coming in and I'll fix us something. We had all planned on going to her house to surprise her, but she didn't want us to see her "mess". LOL Her mess is a hoarders nightmare and we all know it.

I had my eighty six year old Mother here over the weekend and hosted a family cookout. She enjoyed every moment of it. Then I got her hanging baskets for her front porch so she was happy. We celebrated early since it was when all of us could get together. Worked out great. I will spending Mothers Day with my daughter and her fiance so looking forward to that also.

My siblings and I had planned on taking my 88 year old mom to dinner(which we do every year) but she's going to Atlantic City the next day and she gets to tired if she goes out two days in a row. My sister already got her plants. Mom's an avid gardener and still does all her own planting. She has a green thumb but hasn't had much luck with orchids. I'm getting her one to give it another try. We'll visit on Saturday and probably have pizza. She considers that a treat since she likes it but rarely eats it anymore!

We are attending the college graduation of a family member! Actually, that's in Saturday, but nothing planned for Sunday.

My 2 sisters, Mom & me are going to Springfield IL Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon. We will see the sights, eat, drink and get a massage.

This is our third Mother's day trip. We've gone to MI and WI. Maybe next year will be Dallas. My son & family is moving there. They are expecting our second GS in September.

i watch that hoarding show....lots of elderly people living with their stuff....and they are very upset when they are asked to get rid of it.....sometimes i feel that if they are safe in their hoard, just let them be.....living in a dangerous hoard is a totally different situation...hope your mom is in a safe place.....hoard or no hoard, i wish my mom was with me....passed away in 1981 at the age of 56.....happy mother's day to you!

@nana59 ... It is a bad and she knows it. We clean it out and she fills it back up. It makes her feel "safe".

we had our mothers day celebration this past weekend for my mother. we all watched the kentucky derby together and i made mint juleps. she had never watched the original star wars so my brother brought up a copy of star wars and we watched that. i went out and bought us all kababs for dinner. sunday morning we went out for a brunch buffet. she loves when all of us can be together at one time......and it doesnt happen often enough.

this upcoming weekend i will be going to the beach with one of my daughters and i will celebrate by relaxing at the beach. maybe she will treat me to a dinner also?

may everyone have a loving, peaceful, and enjoyable mothers day.

My mom is in her heavenly home for the 10th Mother’s Day. She would have been 90 in June. I know we will be together again so over time I’ve adjusted quiet well. I think it’s great reading about your moms and ages. I guess several of us had depression-era moms so I can relate to the hoarding. One day it will be a blessing for you to go through her things and remence about her treasures. I found 3 $100 bills in one of her books so be careful when sorting and throwing things away.

My mother passed in 1993 and would be 100 this year in Sept. But, I will be taking a wreath to her grave and talk to her. I always do that to get out my frustrations. She was a good mother who did all the work at home and outside the home. She was a depression child but she didn't hoard. My children will be coming over but I have no idea what's going on. Happy Mother's Day to all who are mothers of fur babies.
