The new owners couldn't save it.

I've been a hostess since 1986. We had so much fun! I love the baskets and still use them.

So sad about this.

That's too bad.

About 15+ years ago, Longaberger parties and other home sales parties were quite popular for a short time in our subdivision/neighborhood.

I think everyone quickly tired of them.

I have 2 of their purses. They are both picnic/ hamper style. One has a long strap, the other has a short wood handle. I cannot go anywhere with either of those two purses without compliments. Well made. At the time they were expensive, but proved to be an excellent investment.

I own 2 baskets.

The good-they are nice quality and over the years I have used them.

Not so good,--they were very expensive. My first and only experience with them

was when I got invited to a cocktail party and silly me didn't realize I was invited

because the woman was trying to sell me something. I went and felt the pressure

to buy something so I did. Expensive!!

Funny thing I was never invited to a party of hers again. So she wasn't looking for friends, just customers.

I was younger then....new to the world of come to my party, buy something, goodbye.

I own 2 baskets. One is a square cake basket, and the other is a bathroom vanity

They are so well made. I just love them both. I'm sorry this happened to them. They were an old and trusted firm

That's too bad. I remember how popular they were years ago...baskets in general were very popular and I guess people who collected got tired of having many that became dust collectors. Tastes and styles change.

To raise money for charity it has become popular to have Designer Bag Bingo. I never played Bingo before but for charity - well of course, I will shell out the money. Yesterday I saw an ad, not only was it Designer Bag Bingo it also included Longaberger Baskets.

Sorry they are out of business. They were nice baskets - I still use one for the spare car keys.

This is so sad, their headquarters is located about 30 miles away from my home. I own several baskets and some of the pottery. When the founder died things went downhill quickly. They priced themselves out of business, thinking that people would purchase no matter what. It wasn't uncommon to have a small basket cost over $60 with protector and liner. Now you can find Longaberger baskets at garage sales, flea markets and auctions cheap.

To bad.....I have a lot of baskets .....they were well made and I prefered them over the baskets that the Q sold many years ago. The parties were popular in my area, a good reason to get together with girl friends but I have not been to a party in many years.

The prices got out of hand in my opinion.

My aunt collected them, i use to go ,with my mom to peterbourgh ,n h , to get their baskets at their outlet,years ago.

I didn't know they were still in business. I haven't heard of a party in ages. I used to have a friend that sold it. They were well made.

I have a couple of the baskets and they do hold up well buy my favourite now are the lock and lock dishwasher safe and microwaveable.I wish they made a few more sizes in those.

Oh wow, sorry to hear this. I attended a couple of my friends home Longaberger parties. Have a few of their baskets. Expensive, but they last forever. I think all home type selling parties are gone by the wayside. Princess House glass items were big in my younger days in our area. A friend was a rep, so I have lots of those items. Are they still in business?

I have a couple of Longaberger baskets but I switched to Peterboro because the were more affordable.

I just searched Longaberger. The website is still up with a flyer that contains their May 2018 specials. However, there are a number of articles that you can look up that say the company is going out of business. Very sad. My daughters, daughter-in-law and I loved Longaberger when the company was booming. I use the products everyday because I have the dishes and table linens, as well as baskets. Their products used to be such high quality, but took a real nose dive after Dave Longaberger died. His daughter just didn't seem to have the necessary skills to run the company. It is really too bad for the area the company was located in. It was the main employer.

Sad. I bought one of the smaller baskets years and used it for mail. It had a loop attached to the back so one could hang it on a door knob or hook.
