Do You Love Turquoise?

I'm a lover of all things turquoise so when I found this picture, I was enchanted. It's my dream village.

While many of the world's most colorful towns and cities have historic reasons for their varied hues, Júzcar has a much more modern explanation — Hollywood. In 2011, Sony Pictures executives asked the Andalusian enclave if they could paint the town blue as a publicity stunt for those famous blue cartoons, the Smurfs. When The Smurfs 3D movie promotional blitz was over, Sony offered to restore the town back to its iconic pueblo blanco.The residents of Júzcar, however, had gotten used to the tourists (and their euros) and voted to keep the city blue. It now has the distinction of being the only Smurf village in the world (that we know of) and the town hosts regular tours and events — some related to mushrooms, for which the area is known, and which both Smurfs and Spaniards love.

I cannot get enough of turquoise either!! My kitchen is tiled in turquoise, my bathroom is painted turquoise. I have touches of turquoise in every other room. I would love to live in that town. It is gorgeous.

I subscribe to two blogs: House of Turquoise and Everything Turquoise. They are written by another turquoise lover and are a lot of fun!

How beautiful.

I love turquoise too. It's one of my birthstones and I have lots of jewelry. My home decor has touches of turquoise throughout as well.

@hellodali. Interesting to know about those blogs, I'll have to look them up. All the accessories in my house as well as the outside trim, are turquoise. Also much of my clothing and jewelry. I can't get enough of it and this has been going on for years.

Everything Turquoise is dangerous. The blog is sent maybe once a week and it list all kinds of beautiful items in turquoise and where to buy them.

House of Turquoise is just that. Absolutely gorgeous homes done mainly in turquoise; however, sometimes in blue too. Totally stunning.

I'm pretty sure that Cape May house is the one on the end of Wilden Ave., right next to the ocean.

My father's summer house that we lived in every summer was a block from this one. I always thought this one was so beautiful, a gingerbread house and one of the prettiest ones, and my favorite there.It was repainted years ago and this is how I remember it the last time I saw it.

A lot of the Victorian houses on that street and all over were painted and refreshed with all these sparkling new victorian colors. Not every house was a huge victorian like this though.

It is one of the most charming places I've ever been to.

My room when I was young there was painted turquoise! My step mother made a beautiful bedspread of turquoise and yellow flowers -a print, with a bedskirt and a sham to match. She was a wonderful seamstress.

I had a big piece of driftwood like a tree stuck in a planter and I wound fake flowers around it and my stuffed snake I won at the Wildwood boardwalk.

The ocean breezes would come thru the shutters at night.I now have one of those sound machines with the ocean sound that I sleep to every night. I loved that room!

My grandmother was so funny. She never liked the sand and of the ocean she would say, "I just wish it would be still! Can't it be still for one minute?! There was a small swampy pond across the street and you could hear the bullfrogs in the summer with their drum chorus really loud.

I am not a particular fan but when I wear it I get compliments. I am told it is"my color"

Lately, the last couple of years, I do feel drawn to all shades of turquoise especially with clothes. And I do have quite a few turquoise earrings and rings....and a couple of bracelets too.......

The only thing I do NOT like about tourquoise....is hearing QVC host's and vendors going on and on and on and on about "THAT MINE" THAT'S CLOSED.....WE KNOW! WE KNOW! WE KNOW!

I'm thinking of getting new awnings over my front windows and door ... they are now in the "safe" color of beige with brown stripe. Well, after seeing this thread, I'm going to go with turquoise with a tiny white stripe (if Sears has that color).

And ... after seeing @OKPrincess front door ... think I'll get a new one in that color, too.

Yes. Our outdoor umbrellas on the deck and patio are turquoise with toned down orange accent pillows on the furniture.
