So often elderly people pass away quickly after their spouse. He seems so weak.

Sometimes this happens when couples have been married for long periods of time.

My DMIL passed 6months after DFIL passed. They had been married 65 years.

How did he suddenly get sepsis? I would think he was already sick when he attended the funeral.

So sorry to hear this. Bless him. I don't know what to wish for him because he has lost his dearest love and, of course, misses her as he would miss his beating heart itself.

I doubt he'll live very long, he probably doesn't consider it "living" but rather "existing." The poor man...I know he has a big family but it isn't the same...

He is not at all a healthy man and has gone through the shock of losing his beloved Barbara and having to go through this lengthy funeral and being host to all the other presidents. When I heard that Barbara had died, I was shocked because I didn't realize she was in poor health.

I'm not surprised. When I was watching Barbara's funeral, I thought then that he would not last long without her. They had the best love story of all times. I can't even imagine how you would go on living without someone you've loved and lived with for more than 73 years..

The hospital stated that he is responding to treatment and seems to be improving. Hoping for the best.

Prayers and good thoughts might be more helpful than eulogizing.

He has overcome bouts of sepsis in the past and if his will to live is strong enough he can overcome it again.

If he is ready to "go" then no amount of medical intervention will help.

He’s really a tough guy (WW2 Vet, etc). I bet he will pull through. I sure hope so! We need examples like him around us today. So sad for him without Barbara around!
