Sometimes they only take them at certain times of the year. In my case, I had many books to donate and they didn't want them until October - well this was July and I could not hold onto them.

I ma not exactly sure what this is called, but in my sister's neighborhood, several homes have a little book rack near their mail box, and you can put books in there that you no longer want, as well as take the books that you might be interested in reading. Her subdivision is probably about a mile, and there are several of these throughout her sub division. She loves it because you always have somewhere to take your already read books to, and you can always pick up a new book....

I am not sure what the exact name is called, but it seems to be quite popular and a good way to get rid of excess books as well...

If your church does not have a library or a book sale, then I would contact other churches to see if they do - and if they would like these books.

Our church has both and we always appreciate donations - so I think you'll be able to give them away without too much problem.
