      <title>Question regarding an Etsy Shop purchase.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I purchased an item from an Etsy Shop on 3/20/18. &amp;nbsp;Since I've ordered from this seller before and had no problems I wasn't concerned when I checked her shop in a few weeks and noticed that she still hadn't shipped my item. &amp;nbsp; She states that she is in nursing school and also works part-time so I just assumed that she got busy and hadn't gotten around to getting my order mailed out. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I wasn't too concerned. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I then waited a few more days and there was still no action. &amp;nbsp; My item was listed on her Etsy page as "not dispatched". &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; I then sent her a message inquiring about my order. &amp;nbsp; I received no response from her. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've been checking each day and sent another message and now I see that she has closed her Etsy Shop. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have notified Etsy and they have now opened up a dispute case with this seller. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone else ever had a problem with an Etsy seller? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I paid for this item through PayPal. &amp;nbsp; Etsy states in their regulations that if I contact my credit card company for additional help they will close my case.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am at a loss as to what to do. &amp;nbsp;I feel that continuing to deal with Etsy and allowing them to settle this situation might be a better choice than to contact PayPal. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Of course if Etsy doesn't follow through and resolve this case then I will notify PayPal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PayPal allows 180 days to make a claim. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The cost of the item along with shipping is $30.40. &amp;nbsp;Not a huge amount of money but I'm not going to just forget about it. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I purchase many items through Etsy and this is the first time I have run into a seller such as this. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Are there any Etsy sellers on this forum? &amp;nbsp; If so, what advice would you give me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I had trouble once with an Etsy seller not sending my item and I wrote her like you did and received no response. I then wrote Etsy and they settled it with her refunding my money.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's nice to have goals like furthering your education but you must take care of your responsibilities. That's an excuse. Etsy should get on some of the sellers for not sending soon enough. Dealing with Ebay is much better.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope you either get your item or a refund.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have alawys had success reporting to Paypal, whether it is Etsy, ebay or whatever.&amp;nbsp; In my experience, a lot of etsy sellers do not seem to care about prompt shipping and act like it is ok to ship "when they get around to it."&amp;nbsp; I tire of the sob story excuses.&amp;nbsp; If they want to sell and take the money, then they should be prepared to do whatit takes to ship the item out without delay.&amp;nbsp; This is one reason I rarely shop on etsy these days.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I purchased an antique ruby ring on Etsy back in January for $225.00. When the seller had not shipped it within a normal period, I thought, of 5 days, I contacted her. She said she was sorry - she had misplaced the ring and had a few more places to look. Also, she said she had been busy planning a New Year's Eve party. When I finally did receive the ring, it looked nothing like the pictures and I told her I wanted to return it. She said she normally didn't accept returns, but would in my case. When I left her some fairly negative feedback, her comment to it was " I don't understand this review at all. I mailed the ring out the very day that I received payment".&amp;nbsp; Of course, I was not able to reply to that since I had already left feedback.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Seller didn’t ship out the item and wouldn’t respond to messages.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I contacted etsy and opened a dispute with them.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Finally heard back from the seller as Etsy had reached her. She said she was out of the country and would be for the next month. I got a refund.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm an Etsy seller and have been on Etsy for ten years (as of this month!).&amp;nbsp; I think it's a disgrace when I hear of other sellers &amp;amp; shops that don't follow through with their obligations to their customers.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However yes things do happen...once I had to go to the ER but I had my DH bring me my phone when he could so I could communicate with my customers.&amp;nbsp; At the very least a seller should do their best to communicate with their customers.&amp;nbsp; I find that a little communication goes a long way.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since the shop is now closed and of course you want your money back I would call Paypal and explain what happened.&amp;nbsp; See what they will do for you to get your money back.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would say let Etsy handle it and yes, contact PayPal if they don't.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Things happen and it's possible your Etsy seller is dealing with some difficult real life issues that have taken her away from her or his shop. But that's no excuse for not apologizing to you for not getting your order to you and returning your money.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would like to thank all of you who took the time to respond to my question. &amp;nbsp; I never thought I would receive so many replies. &amp;nbsp;It makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one who ever had a problem with an Etsy seller. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I guess that is the chance you take when you purchase anything from an online shop. Although as I said before in my original post I purchase many items from both Etsy and Ebay and various other websites and this is the first time I have had any type of problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Once this issue is settled and I receive either my item or a refund I will post again and let everyone know the outcome. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am reviving this thread because I wanted to let everyone know how my issue with this Etsy seller was resolved. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Etsy made a few attempts to contact her to try and get me a refund. &amp;nbsp;When she failed to response to them they gave her two days to issue my refund or show proof that she mailed the item to me. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;She was told if she did not do that they would issue me the refund and she would have those charges on her account. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Etsy told me that although she closed her shop her account with them was still open. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I just received an email from Etsy stating that they have issued me a refund and it has already been posted to my PayPal account. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am really sorry that I had to go that route because I liked the Etsy seller. &amp;nbsp;I want to believe that she just got in over her head and was unable to take care of her obligations.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I gave her every chance to contact me and I would have worked with her. &amp;nbsp; I hate to make problems for people but she left me no choice. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was very pleased with how Etsy handled everything. &amp;nbsp; I certainly will continue to purchase from my other favorite sellers because I've never had any issues with any of the other shops. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
