Getting very hard to discuss any subject here anymore...

Any links posted seem to be laden with forbidden by QVC rules and regulations....everything is removed... or deleted.

Harder and harder to bring interesting conversations to the boards. Why bother....

Just will not anymore.

Back to discussing my pillows, nutisystem or the iconic Pooping Moose....

It would be better to be more vigilant with your links; sidebars fluctuate, I understand that-but perhaps it would have been better to post a portion of the story without the link.

And honestly-not that this matters-but sometimes all we see around here are tragic stories and gossip from magazines about people we don't know and who don't care about us.

We've had good discussions about serious topics.

There is plenty to discuss although I cringe at topics such as how does one use a public bathroom. Gah.

About the thread you had deleted, I saw that story about the tragic accident, too. And I do believe it was an accident. I certainly hope so. But very sad, too.

I still can't get over the initial one you posted about with the Hart children.

Could care less about the mother who at least once held her child's head under the water in the bathtub.

Well, she ended up doing that to all of them. I just hope it was quick and they didn't survive the crash.

Just the thought of a car going off a high cliff, knowing the outcome is going to be a bad one, even if you do survive, is horrific to even think about.

@SeaMaiden Sometimes but we've had recent long-standing discussions about topics such as the lastest high school shooting.

All topics eventually become stale or go off topic or become posts that start in with personal issues.

The only thing that really ticks me off is when posts are removed for being "argumentative" when the post is just offering an opposing VP without the snark and attack.

Or it's off-topic but the posts discussing cookies in a thread about global warming remain yet ONE post that really isn't off-topic gets the boot.

Such is life around here.

just copy and paste the article or part of the article.

you can then include a link that is NOT live, but can be copied and pasted by those interested. the other option is just to put part of the article in, then say, for example, via the washington post and include the name of the article.

@FuzzyFace I agree they can make the rules but I strongly disagree that they should be breaking them.

That means inconsistent moderation and is a major factor for discontent.

Applying Standards can be all about perception when it comes to what is arguing or insulting or any other reasons in those instances; and let's face it-some posters get to skate by at times while others are booted off the thread.

Or voted off the island for good.

@croemer and I had a silly thing going on about Whataburger at each other and the mod on duty removed our posts because we were "fighting". We had to call her out and explain what it was all about and she reinstated the posts. We weren't even picking at each other; she likes their burger, I don't.

That's what I'm trying to say; we get posts removed because they are "religious" but post lecturing about a religion stay.

You just have to scratch your head and decide if it is all worth it or not.

Yes, that is probably the only way to post unless you want the post removed.

I liked to give links.... because those times I did not give a link previously, certain posters would comment :

"YOU NEED LINKS to verify the information.... and it not being considered plagiarism. "

If your thread was removed because the link included inappropriate sidebars, then just check your link next time.

I don't think it's unduly difficult to discuss most subjects here and remain within Standards.

@suzyQ3 On some of the links... the side bars change so you never know what is going to be there... I think it is petty..... but, I know the rules of these forums and respect the moderators decisions.

I just will not post controversial or interesting threads on my own.... at least what I find interesting..... anymore. Easy. Done.

The thing that really gets me is that it doesn't seem to matter if the ARTICLE you link to is free of politics, if appears now that if there's anything at all on the page that's political, it's deleted. That's going to include any legitimate news site. That seems like it's going way too far.
