Such a nice piece of news. The "Mr. Rogers" stamp wil be unveiled in March at the Pittsburgh TV studio where the award-winning children's show was produced.

Fred Rogers will share the stamp with "King Friday", one of his many puppet characters.

"Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" was such an affirming, yet soothing show for children. Tranquillizing for adults too. Mr. Rogers just radiated goodness, uprightness, intellectual curiosity. All qualities you'd want to see beamed at children, especially children who might be a little lost and needy.

A well-deserved honor to the memory of a wonderful man!

It pains me when awards or rewards of this kind, aren't known about by the person it's about. I'm glad he gets it.

In Pinterest yesterday, I came across a bunch of stuff from the 60's. There was a picture of The Captain, Mr. Greenjeans, Dancing Bear, Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose, I think that was it. They had the old candies, and roller skates with keys, old phones, 45's on a player, an old cash register, etc. Red wax lips and waxy pop bottles. That was just some of it. Had old rollers and popbeads, I couldn'teven make it to the bottom of the page. My mind went into a brain cramp remembering all that stuff. I OD'd on it. LOL Even the cartoons, Roy Rogers, Sky King, see, brain freeze!!!

Beautiful, well said post @Oznell. He was quite a man. If anyone is interested, there is a touching documentary out there called "Mr. Rogers and Me". It was made by a young man who was Mr. Rogers real life neighbor. It's been several years since I've seen it, but I recall really enjoying it.

My daughter grew up with Mr. Rogers, we both just loved him. He was such a kind man and, I am proud to say, for those who may not know, he was a Presbyterian minister.

Iconic. And so was some of the comedy that arose from it. References like that, that are widely-recognized, are truly culture-changing, maybe defining.

I watched the show when I was older (college)( - it was very soothing. I didn't care for the puppets since I found them creepy. I did enjoy when they showed how things are made such as Crayola Crayons and tricycles. I still like to see how things are made. I was bummed when I went to Hershey Park thinking I was going to see an actual factory.

Remember the postman, Mr. McFeely? Mr. Rogers' full given name was Fred McFeely Rogers, named after his grandfather.

My children loved him. So did I. I knew he was a safe friend for them to watch

My son loved X the Owl ,and my daughter loved Lady Elaine Fairchild. She liked her because she was tricky...

My son, like X ,was always more conservative

One of my favorite Mr. Rogers’ songs is ”I Like to be Told”. I can hear him singing it in my head.

He seemed like such a gentle, sweet soul.

'Just the other day', I ran across one of the episodes. So calming to watch and hear his voice. I believe it was on one of the PBS channels.

I'm thrilled about this good stamp news!

I'm guessing that those new stamps will be very popular.

Several upcoming episodes beginning Mon.,Feb 26 at various times.

Other episodes Feb 27, Feb 28, March 1, March 2, and March 31.

Check your local listings for the various times on each date.

I believe you can watch episodes online, too.

Thanks for posting that @ROMARY. I was just about to do a search on my tv to look for episodes. My daughter grew up watching Mr. Rogers, which I loved, but my 4 year old grandson has never seen his show. I think I'll record some episodes for him and see how he likes them. It's such a different world today; hoping he can appreciate the calmness and purity of Mr. Rogers.

I had heard about that too, @namaste000. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the project. I'm sometimes a bit apprehensive about what filmmakers will do with the lives of beloved firgures like Mr. Rogers!
