Speaking of DNC (do not call) list ...just now a text

Does anyone else receive solicitation TEXTS on their cell phone.

Just now I received a text message and picture (of her business card) from a real estate agent!

I have been extremely careful not to list my cell number with various so this wouldn’t happen. Calls, I regularly receive, but not texts.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Not texts but I do get a few calls (robo one's) now and then.

When I do, I immediately block the number. You can block your cell phone numbers too.

I think it's dangerous to get these calls. I can answer and make calls through my car (not using the cell phone). However, I STILL think it's dangerous to be getting and answering a lot of calls in the car.

It should be against the law for advertisers to call people's cell phone...

Since cell phone numbers were released to telemarketers some time last year I think. We get calls and texts, not many buth they are increasing.

Yes, and they're far less troublesome than unwanted calls since you can read thru much of it from your notification panel, and delete the text without ever opening it.

I've gotten a couple solicitation texts in the past and every now and then an actual call. I keep my cell phone on 'do not disturb' except for anybody who is in my contacts list. That has helped.

I am just so sick of the robocalls and other telephone solicitations. This is stuff that should either be outlawed and disallowed completely, or at least we should have choice.

AT this point the only choice is to block and/or just not answer. But you are still constantly disturbed with it, whether it be landline or cell phone.

I think a lot of it now is just the random dial thing. Technology, such as it is, should be able to be applied by the carriers to block this stuff from going through. Even nomorobo is less effective now because often they put a name on the called ID with the number, so it could look legit. There must be some way to block from the point of origin.

Does that even apply now? I signed up for the do not call list year ago, and now I get some kind of scam call or solicitation call on a daily basis. I just let it go to voice mail. The "windows computer" scammers are back as well as some credit card relief scam. Haven't had the IRS is going to arrest you call in a while though.

I hope I get my machine soon. I just got a call today ,from some politican wanabee....I will never vote for anyone, on principle ,that invades my home privacy....I don't like politics to begin with ,and I like them less ,when they pull this carp

Oh heavens yes! My phones are on Do Not Disturb all the time. Just be sure to select the settings option to let people in your contacts through.

Too bad most people ignore this feature, which is already built in and taking up space in their phone.

@LTT1, I'm a Tracfone user and continuously get texts and voicemails (they somehow manage to bypass calling me) from Verizon. I have called and texted them back telling them I'm on a DNC list, loathe Verizon and they need to stop harrassing me. It doesn't end! With all of the nonsense our government wants to regulate and be involved with, they need to get serious about this, and crack down on scammers and spammers. With all of the technology how hard can it really be?

Ues. I am angered beyond belief. As I told you on other posts on this subject, this has to do with lifting the internet privacy act last year. Went into effect late january, earlt feb this year. I am also getting triple, if not more telemarketer rings. I blocked the limit, and had to start over in January. I now am at -almost 500 blocked calls.

Not that one, but we do receive calls on our land line and cell phones.

You see, the "Do Not Call" list is a "feel-good" federal government sham designed to make you think you're protected when you're really not. There is no follow-up by the government on individual complaints. They merely look for "trends" and "consistent call complaints" before they'll take action. We've had all of our phone numbers on that list since it was invented and we still get all kinds of calls.

There is an app called robokill that will stop the spam calls. Also robofence helps, too.
