I am a long time customer of Andrew Lessman.We have been taking his vitamins for years.I have every confidence in his products.We also take the Omega 3,and I take the gluocosimine/condrotin,for my knee.I think the products are superior to other brands.The product that I will not do without is the friendly flora.I have had stomach issues for years,now I don't.They may cost more.but are worth every penny.Go on his website and read the reviews.I also take the COq10.

This is my take on Andrew Lessman’s formulas. If you are someone who really does not know a lot about supplements, then this line is a good line to give you good formulas, with decent potency’s at a fair, not great price, but, a fair price.

Someone who understands supplements, nutrition and the manufacturing of them, can shop a bit more and do better than Andrews line. I worked in the Natural supplement industry for 25 years...and still keep up on the latest things.

I think it's a personal decision on how much you want to spend on a multi-vitamin, and whether you believe that the guy on HSN has a superior product that is worth the extra cost. Personally, I've asked my doctor and was told that the name brand multi-vitamins that I buy OTC at my favorite drug store will work just fine for my needs. And they're less expensive with no shipping costs. I know that quite a few people think his products are the best, but I don't like to watch him, let alone buy what he's selling. Are they overpriced? For me they are, but I don't buy the hype.

Since the TS is $90 for 400 capsules or just over a 1 year supply I don't think it's a bad price. That's about 13 months for about $7 per month. Doubt you can find another multi with those ingredients for that price.

I bought the large size. DH wanted some B12 so for the price I told him he might as well take the Essential 1 so he ordered a bottle too.

I do like the fact he uses solar, and makes his vitamins in the states. I also love Some of natures path, and a few others...but they are pricy as well. I buy his hair, skin, nails and i do love his marine collagen. Thats all I use of his. The collagen is wonderful. Seems to help hydrate my skin a bit. I also think it helps my veins, and less bruising. I take methotrexate for RA, and the collagen seems to help me. His hair skin nails is the best I have ever had

@Sue98I absolutely believe they are overpriced but you tell me. I don't negate his expertise on supplements but there are other fine options out there, made with quality ingredients, yet for less money, if you're willing to do the research. I usually watch him to get educated but then do my research to find the best price. The Vitacost brand of supplements is made in the USA and often fits the bill well but I don't use that brand exclusively. We've been using a multivitamin supplement from Costco for awhile now. On the Essentials 1 Multivitamins label Lessman brags that it has CoQ10 (Ubiquinone), but when you look at the label, it's only 30 mg? Big deal. Furthermore, he's made it very clear in other presentations that Kaneka Ubiquinol is far better than Ubiquinone, and I believe that, because it absorbs better and is the preferred form for heart and vascular health. The preferred dose, however, is 200 mg. so someone taking his Essential 1 could be led into a false sense of security. That's just one observation from my label reading. The brand we're using from Costco is called Nature's Lab which is also a made in the USA brand. In addition to being a USA made brand, they meet or exceed manufacturing standards, still while leaving undesirable things out (gluten, GMO's, preservatives, artificial colors, etc.), and keeping the cost budget friendly. You can look them up on the Costco website and on their own company website (natureslab dot com) to read about the company, their standards and so forth. They offer a one-a-day multivitamin capsule that I believe is every bit as good, even better, than Lessman's. I believe it's better than Lessman's because it also has Vitamin K included. The Nature's Lab multivitamins are $20/120 capsules, on a regular day, at Costco, but were just on sale for $15 (sale ended yesterday). If you do the math, here's how it comes out.

Price Comparison -

Lessman Essential 1 at the regular price - 400 capsules/$219.90
Lessman Essential 1 when a TTV- 400 capsules/$90

Costco/Nature's Labs - 480 capsules would cost $80 when at the regular price
Costco/Nature's Labs - 720 capsules would cost $90 when on sale

If you aren't a Costco member, the Nature's Lab multi's are available on Amazon, but the cost is $25.99 (prime).

4 bottles = 480 capsules/$104 - not as great as if one was a Costco member, but still better than the price of Lessman's, and still includes Vitamin K that would have to be an additional purchase if the consumer believed it was necessary.

I use just couple of Lessman's products. I've priced other brands and it'd run me about $13 per month. I can buy a year's worth for $80-$100 which ends up to be less than what I'd pay for elsewhere per month. Every time I run out, I look elsewhere because it's a lot to spend at once. But then I calculate the costs for a year's worth and go back to lessman.

I won't use his line because many of his creations include soy. Nope. That's a junk/cheap filler and not needed. That made me look elsewhere immediately.

I have issues with many vitamins giving me a rash or making me feel dizzy. Took a long time and eventually I found a concoction that works for me from different lines. They aren't cheap but I'm looking at the ingredient list first and foremost. Costco has some great products at good prices, I will say. We use their Vit. C gummies; excellent.

I have been taking Andrews vitamins for 30 yrs now . Started when he was on QVC then continued when he went to hsn. I now deal directly with his company in Vegas as I dont watch hsn.

have tried other brands at times as Andrews vitamins are pricey , but nothing compares! Lots of side effects from other brands and have tried many. his are pure with no additives or sugar, starch , soy etc. his cause no stomach distress as others did. So easy to digest if that's important to you. I will not take any other line . It's like the old saying. ...you get what you pay for 😺.

I would never buy a vitamin based on price alone; so getting vitamins that are "cheap" doesn't interest me. I have absorption issues and had some vitamin deficiencies and I briefly considered Lessman's products. His presentations sound good. But I'm also a logical person and a slick presentation from a person who obviously wants my money stopped me. I asked my endocrinologist and he'd never heard of Lessman or his products although he did say that doesn't mean that the products aren't of good quality. It just means he's not a factor in medical circles. Since I needed to correct deficiencies, he told me to take Nature Made vitamins and Centrum Silver for Women as my multivitamin and Citrical for my calcium and only those products because those are the products he knows and has faith in and he has seen the testing and he knows that those products are made with binders and ingredients that are easily digestible. And that is the differece between "cheaper" vitamins and those that cost more. He said the cheap vitamins are often not absorbed or only partially absorbed and you don't get the benefit you need or want. Honestly, Lessman comes across like used car salesman to me. Too slick, with too many promises but at the $$$$ prices he charges, I do believe he makes a high quality product and if I didn't have specific deficiences, and was taking them prophalacticaly, I'd take them. On the other hand, I would never in this world take some $2.99 nameless brand vitamin just because it's cheap.

Something else to help a person understand what they are buying is understanding how to read a label... and the average consumer does not know how to do this and they are taken advantage by formulators of supplements. And it can be very complicated to really understand everything on a vitamin label.....

Something that appears the same on one bottle or another brand to brand in comparing can be totally different potency's.... per pill, per serving and even what the vitamin or mineral is bound to to help with absorption... so different..... making one formula way superior to another.

For example one bottle touts having Lutein in its formula... 500mcgs..... to the average consumer all they see is LUTEIN on the front label in big letters... sounds good..... but, 500 mcgs is just 1/2 a milligram.... not very much at all. What the cheaper formulas do is dummy down the potency's of the more expensive supplements in the formula to the point that it is basically going to do nothing for you. But they list them on the label and advertise that their formula contains these popular supplements like you are getting a great formula. WRONG.

so many things like this that most consumers often overlook, or do not know what to look for when choosing a supplement..... what is a decent potency... for what you are paying....

@Sue98wrote:

I'm seriously considering ordering, but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper option available with quality ingredients. Any thoughts?

@Sue98

It really depends what you are looking for.

I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to supplements. Having knowledge can lead to good decisions based on what one is looking for. If I wanted cheap supplements instead of high quality ones, I would not be using any of Andrew Lessman’s products.

It is difficult, if not impossible, for me to find supplements that can compare to ProCaps Labs quality. Almost all other brands have added fillers which I do not need or want even if the desired supplement ingredient is of good quality. Some people don’t think twice about supplements that contain fillers. That is fine for them. Again, what one is looking for will vary and we don’t all look for the same things.
