If you are alone today...

If you are alone today, like me, Happy Valentine's day, anyway!
I won't be getting a box of chocolates, or a fancy card, or roses, or jewelry, but that's okay. I have my cat (I posted special pics of my Cat-entine on the pet forum) and I guess he's all I need.

So I just wanted to say to everyone who is alone today, I'm here with you, and just keep smiling, because love ties us all together. Don't let the fru-fru (is that how that's spelled?) around you get you down. You are special. You are beautiful. You are loved.

I am also going to have some chocolate and ice cream later to celebrate me today anyway!

Yesterday was Galentines Day, a day when women celebrate their women friends, relatives, etc.

I was in Trader Joe's this AM and this charming elderly man tapped me on the shoulder to whisper Happy Valentine's Day. It's hard to proprely describe his "attire": He had on a red had and red shirt. A print jacket with some red in it. Then he proudly pointed to his PLAID pants, that had not a hint of red! And then pointed to his socks, which were a pattern of many colors! He looked hilarious! But he seemed delighted with his outfit, with a big smlle on his face. What a day brightener!!!!!!!!! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

My only thought about days like this is "Do you really want to put up with another person's ******?"

I Love your cat! Your cat is far better IMO then any man. I am a huge animal lover so I would say that, sorry if I offended anyone didn't mean to.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I am alone today too, BUT I have my 3 cats who are always by my side. Life it what you make it so, hug your friends, hug your pets, and enjoy your life every day!

As long as you have someone or a pet that loves you then you are a Valentine! Nothing wrong with treating yourself to chocolates, good book, flowers or anything else you want in observance of the holiday.

I stopped on my way home yesterday at Smallcakes for a large speciality cupcake and BJ Brewhouse Restaurant for two scoops of Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chip ice cream. Only allowed myself to have half last night after dinner so I could indulge for the rest as my Valentine's treat from me to me!! I know what I like better than anyone so why not avoid the crowds and buy the gift early. Happy Valentine's Day to all.

I don't live alone anymore (I did at times and never minded it). Right now I live with my daughter who also has chronic illness. It's a very quiet household. There is no drama. We respect each other's privacy.

I haven't had a "man" in my life since my mid-50s, and have never missed it.

We would both love just to be healthy. That is the greatest gift of all.

My DH is ill and can't drive anymore, so he told me to get myself some roses, which I did. I picked up a couple other items as well.
