ROYAL WATCHERS - RULES TO LIVE BY FOR THE MONARCHY

I do not recall where I read the following "Rules To Live By" since I copied the article some time go. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

When the Queen stops eating, everyone stops eating.

Everyone must bow and curtsy.

Don't show affection in public.

Royal bouquets require a special flower - Myrtle must be somewhere

in the flower arrangement.

Political views and voting issues aren't allowed.

Monopoly Board Game is on a list of forbidden games the

royal family can play.

Ordering shell fish when dining out is banned.

Garlic has been banned from Buckingham Palace.

Napkins must be folded in half after eating.

When the royal family walks into a room they enter in

order of rank.

Just as everyone has to finish eating when the Queen is done,

when she puts her purse on the table it means it is time to wrap

things up...Chop, chop!

Walking in front of the Queen is a no no - two steps behind is

the general rule - this also applies to her husband.

Don't drink tea any old way! Use the thumb and index finger to

hold the top of the handle, while the middle finger should

support the bottom. They should sip from the same spot so

the entire rim doesn't have lipstick stains. And never, never

pinkies out.

If a royal needs to use the restroom during the dinner, they shouldn't

say so. Getting up and simply saying "excuse me" is perfectly

sufficient. In fact the phrase is encouraged.

Chins must be parallel to the ground. Royal women should always

descend stairs with their chins parallel to the ground. Also they

should always pose with their chins in the same parallel position.

It is doubtful anyone would call for a beheading if these "common words"

were used, but it is seriously looked down upon if a royal uses the

words "toilet ", "pardon", "couch", "living room", "posh", "patio" or

"perfume."

It’s a good thing I never made it to the royal circle. Too many rules on the list — I mean what if I was enjoying my dessert and the Queen was through eating, I don’t get to finish my dessert? Makes you think.

I'm not sure the bouquet information is correct. I see kiddies present her with a couple of posies ,with no greenery at all, quite often ,in film clips. Perhaps in her official flowers that is true

When Kate was in Norway recently she left her coat on indoors for lunch with the Crown Prince and Princess.

Cameras were present so it was considered a public engagement. Royal rules say it is "unladylike" for a woman to take her coat off in public. 😕

Royal life exists in a lot of countries. If that's how they still want it, well that's their right. I wouldn't want some other countries making fun and saying how silly our country is and they can't believe we still live this way. It's how we've always lived and we like it. Same for them. Their rules are older than ours, that's why they seem so different.

Doesn't mean much if we don't know who authored it. However, I am sure are true and some aren't. I'm still laughing over the chin thing...lol That bathroom thing is common courtesy that we all use. Isn't it? No one with any manners announces that they are going to take dunk when they leave the dinner table...lol

I think it depends on if your English or not. I noticed when a President from days gone by and his wife was over there they didn't bow. Kiind of thought it was rude. Would had just been a thing of respect while visiting that country

Love the picture !!! And btw I do not see anything wrong with the Royal rules, they just keeping the traditions of etiquette and proper respect to the monarch.

I saw this one on the Internet after I started the thread, it wasn't on the list. I could not believe it!!
