Anyone else having trouble logging into aol mail?

I had no problem until just now. I got an 'authentication" error and a 'blerk 1" error. When I couldn't log in with old password, I made a new one and still can't log in. This is happening on my chromebook computer and my tablet. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I am too. I managed to go to aol.com and hit mail after logging in with the error. It actually did log me in despite the error. I also had sucess with going directly to mail.aol.com. But it is very hit or miss.

Yes, me as as well. Kept getting the "blerk" too. I was in earlier and logged in fine. I called for Customer Support and there was a 45-minute wait. The message said something about AOL had gone to a new experience: the 2-page log-in process. I've cleared my cookies and re-booted. Still get the blerk.

I have been using AOL for 25 years and have seen many changes. They recently made another change on December 15, 2017, and sent a notification back in November.

You can no longer sign into AOL from your PC using an older version of their program. You now have to download a new app. In addition, you must subscribe and pay a fee, $5 a month, to use other AOL features as well as their desk top programming. They have discontinued AIM too.

i can use my AOL mail for no charge by using the new app on my phone or iPad, but I can no longer get into AOL by using the sign in screen on my desk top, nor can I read their news feed, etc. because I opted not to pay.

Yes, same thing. Irritating when all I want to do is quickly check my emails before I head out shopping. It will have to wait till later for me.

no problems for me on my laptop. i am on the mid-atlantic east coast.

i am able to view and read my emails.

i dont have the aol program downloaded on my laptop. but i do use aol as my homescreen on one of my browsers. i can easily get to my email AND see their newsfeed. i have not paid anything to aol for probably 10+ years now. you can also just go to aol.com and see their news stories and get your email.

No one received notification that there was going to be a change as well as a price hike? AOL may have financial issues.

Yes I got the blerk error but I tried signing in again and I was able to get into my mail. I hardly use AOL anymore, just a few things that I can use another email addy for.

I am on my laptop now and hardly ever use it for aol. I have the app on my tablets and that works ok. I can live without aol if I have to.

I tried to log into AOL email and got the BLERK! ERROR 5. So I opened up another tab and went to the AOL home page. From there I saw I was already signed into AOL successfuly and able to access my Inbox. I hope that works for you!

Yes, when you get the error message, try opening another tab. Worked for me!

I'm using a MacBook Pro with Safari. I just cleared cookies and restarted my computer and was able to get back in. However, the log-in has become two pages. One page for your user name, the the next page for your passoword. Not sure how long it's been that way, since I haven't had to do that log-in recently.

I was having trouble for about two and a half hours. I sent them an email after trying all of the recommended solutions with no success. Mine is now fixed.

I did the other day, and then my husband couldn't get something on the t.v., that we figured might be part of that. Then boom both were ok. So something was going on!!

YES! I have been for quite some time & thought it was my laptop, I nearly bought a new one & I'm so fond of this one. Boy, I am glad to read I'm not alone but sorry for everyone this is happening too, count me in!

I have been with AOL mail since the beginning of home computers and problems have occured almost everyday in the past yr!

I really dislike it sooooo much.I would change my e-mail if I was not know all over the world....lol.for my AOL address.....lol........to much trouble to notify everyone of my change

I NEVER use AOL for anthing except mail!

It's back up and running.........But what a FIASCO....no notification whatsoever that they were making a change.....

I just prefer the set up of AOL email....

I have another email address with someone else (I use that one only for certain categories/people), but I have serious security concerns with them....and find their format rather clunky and they fill your inbox with "ads of interest" and if you dont like it, you can pay them extra to remove them....My security software can block any email ads on AOL (I dont use the brand AOL offers...).....

Anyone here on Pogo.com (computer game site)....at least we got notified well in advance of coming transition to 2 step sign in process in March and they've walked us through it all....Glad SOMEONE thought about the users with Pogo instead of just springing it on us like AOL did........I guess everyone is going 2 step for security.....

i am surprised at those who say they have almost daily problems.

i very RARELY have any problems with aol or with receiving my aol mail.....online OR via the app.

I found this rather amusing ..... they said to click if you had trouble trying to log in after 2 hours so I clicked the link and reported it, and I thought Id get a text or a call about the issue....but they sent it to my AOL email....so if I can't get into my email how was I supposed to read the email that they sent advising me that they were working on the problem...LOL!!!! Does that speak VOLUMES about the common sense their IT Dept has....too funny!!!

Its fixed now and thats how I finally got to read their email...but OMG!
